That is a very cool photo! Notice the Horseshoe wasn't Binion's at the time. Joe W. Brown owned/ran the place while Benny was in prison for tax evasion - a plea bargain coordinated with the state of Texas to drop murder charges.

My first visit to downtown Las Vegas, you could still park in front of the casinos on Fremont Street, but by then, the Plaza was at the end (or beginning) of downtown.

I like the Fremont Street Experience better than downtown 30-40 years ago, but back then, it was still fun.
