NYC is spending a million dollars a day protecting Trump Tower, even when he isn't there.

CNN, the leader in left wing fake news, reported that 3 unnamed NYC officials told them it was costing the city a million dollars a day to protect Trump Tower after the election. Many other mainstream outlets ran with that story/number. Throw crap at a wall to see what sticks, then run with it.

In mid-November, Mayor deBlasio said an additional 50 traffic agents and police officers have been positioned at Trump Tower to help with the flow of people and vehicles. 50. Does that look like it would drive the additional costs of protecting the tower to a million dollars a day?

December 5th, Mayor deBlasio requested $35 million in federal funds to cover the projected cost of protecting Trump at his midtown residence between Election Day and the inauguration. IF that much money in fact reflects the actual additional costs to the city, it is still less than $500,000 a day. That number too, is probably grossly inflated...

DeBlasio has asked for $480,000 a day as partial reimbursement of what it is costing. Every source I can find is using the million dollar a day figure.

Unless any of the sources you can find breaks down the costs, and quotes actual city officials by name who provided that information, your sources are just parroting the original CNN report...from unnamed officials.

If the numbers are true, they should be pretty simple to breakdown and explain...like x number of additional personnel costs x dollars per day. There should be no rational reason for that kind of information to be confidential.

Perhaps you would like a diagram of where the extra officers are stationed, as well as a complete breakdown of the Secret Service positions and so on.No rational reason why that shouldn't be public knowledge.
My friends are now retired, but worked for years in the Emergency Service Squads for NYPD. In addition to their normal tours, they worked overtime every time the President would come to town. Simply not enough officers trained to do what they do. I'd imagine it's the same here.
