Back to Harrahs, Rincon

Once again Harrahs, Rincon had a multi-point promotion on 1/17. For Diamond members, it’s 7X Reward points. So, considering their new inventory of full pay VP along with the multi-point promotion, it was just too lucrative to ignore. Fortunately, I had the day off and made the hour and a half drive at 6:00 AM.

At 7:30, after swiping my card for the promotion. I had some cash to play considering I had made a royal last week. I sat down with a plan: $200 at Ultimate X deuces; $200 for 8/5 BP; $200 for Ugly Deuces; and $200 for 9/6 Jacks. Even if tragedy hit and I lost everything, I would still be ahead quite a bit for the year.

The Ultimate X machine was already busy with a guy who was on the phone the whole time giving a play-by-play to whomever was on the line with him (probably the same guy that Lolly talked about last week). With the extra points, I chose to play exclusively at the $0.50 level. Though I played a good long time (a little over $4K) on my initial stake, I couldn’t hit the deuces. I took out my next $200 and switched to 8/5 Bonus Poker (the guy on the Ultimate X wasn’t going anywhere soon, he had just hit quad 3s with a kicker at 4X).

Within a few minutes, I was dealt quad deuces (ain’t it always the case?). At least it was still a bonus quad. I also managed quad 3s later and a couple other quads, but no Aces and eventually lost.

The guy on the Ultimate X was now gone, and I put in my stake for $200 at the dime level. I’ve been pretty lucky on this machine hitting quad deuces three times (once for 7X). However, this was simply a horrific session rarely, if ever, catching back-to-back good hands, which is necessary at this game to win. I lost my stake WAY too soon.

It was back to the fifty cent games. Though I was supposed to play 9/6 Jacks, my heart simply wasn’t in it, and I figured if I could hit the deuces just once, the $500 would bring me almost back to even. This session lasted a good four hours. Though I never caught the deuces, I had a plethora of Wild Royals, 5-of-a-kinds, and such that allowed me to make two cash outs (reach $300, take out a hundred, and put the $200 back in). After over 10K run though on this session alone, I had now put in almost 7 hours. I finally hit 0 and chose to play at least a hundred through the 9/6 Jacks.

I was at the same machine in the far right corner that I had won my Royal on last week. I guess you can see where I’m going here. I held the 10/Ace/King of Diamonds and the Jack and Queen show up for my first $2000 Royal ever.

After being paid, I played off the rest of the initial hundred and was heading out when a spot opened up at the Rockin’ Olives machine. I played full coin for a hundred and managed to play for a little over an hour and adding another 2K before losing it. So, in total, I played just short of 20K ($140 in Reward comps) and left with a nifty profit of $1300 for my VP toolbox and the next multipoint day.

If only every story ended this well.

What a great run! Congratulations. We will be at Rincon on a short jaunt from our trip to LV and are very happy to see that they have some full pay JOB. I mostly play pennies with some VP thrown in and have never done well but my husband won a small progressive there a few years back. Thanks for the TR.
How often do they have RC multipliers there? We have never been there when they were having one. Is there a schedule on their website somewhere?
Sionow, although I only play blackjack, your descriptions of you playing video poker are so vivid and joyful, it almost makes me want to learn how to play it. Almost.

Thanks for another fun trip report!
Good to hear you had some great luck with that $2000 royal.

I do so LOVE a story with a happy ending!!!
Congrats on your royal Jon. Keep them coming!
Harrahs Rincon usually has three days per month as multiple point days. They always differ month to month. Unfortunately, they don't put this info on their web site. I simply call Rincon (google it), ask for the Total Rewards Center and ask them to give me the dates.

Nice start to the New Year Jon. Here is hoping 2011 is your best ever.
congrats on the nice session...

It takes like 3 weeks for the bonus comp dollars to show though??
I was always told that it takes days for the multipoints to show up; however, mine seemed to be there the very next day.
