Back To The Silverton In April!

And it's about time. Haven't been there since January 2013. Faye's daughters family is coming in on April 11 and Faye called our host today and got them a suite with an adjoining room, and us a suite with also an adjoining room for her caretaker.

Although it will be great for her to see her kids and grandchildren...4 of them now...the sad note she is also going to see her sister who has cancer. Faye just hopes she hangs on until we can get there.

We are planning to have a big shindig at Twin Creeks for G-d knows how many people. It could be for as many as 17 people! YIKES!!! Hope they are going to comp it or else I better hit one of those progressive jackpots at the Hootie and the Blowfish lounge.

It sure will be fun going back to our second home which I missed so much! We're supposed to leave on April 11 which is a Friday. I hate to drive to Vegas on a Friday because of the traffic, but I'll make sure we have the rental car a day early and get on the road before the traffic gets too heavy.

Naturally, I'll be sending out daily...or almost daily trip reports to let you know how many jackpots....I hope...I will hit at the bar. Only 45 days to go. Is sheltie love going to be there at that time? I know I'll see Walt and Marcia as they always seem to stop by when we are in town. Looking forward to seeing anyone else who is in own on the dates we're there. Probably be there a week...but you never know with us.
Bagiant,
I'm so glad you are going back to the Silverton. Your trip reports inspired me to stay there several years ago. I loved it so much I have stayed there several times and it is my favorite place in Las Vegas.
I love the comfortable beds, it is like sleeping on a cloud. The employees are very friendly and the aquarium is relaxing to look at (even on the edge of a casino). This is a small thing but I love the grilled vegetables at their buffet. I'm looking forward to your trip reports (hopefully daily)!
Aloha,
Jennifer
Twin Creeks rocks!! I go straight for the on the bone rib-eye steak with Alaskan king crab legs and bake potato!

Twin Creeks 2014 Menu
I like either the Prime Rib or Filet Mignon with Brenaise sauce. For dessert we get the French press coffee and Creme Brulee. UMMM! Faye's son like the bone in rib eye and Faye likes their TRIO. I think it's lobster, filet and shrimp.

I've missed your trip reports too and look forward to your wins at the bar. Why did you wait so long in between trips, and how did you get comped rooms without being there for such a long time? I've played there one time, very lightly so, and got a 2 night offer out of it. It's a generous place to play.
I can't wait to get back to the bar and play and meet my old bartender friends.
Well it turns out we may not be going at all! First of all, one of our dogs, Sugarbear...Faye's favorite...has been diagnosed with kidney disease. She can go at any time. But today, we had another turn of events. faye's legs are swelling up to almost double their size. She's had this happen before, but now she is also sweating like crazy during the night. So her cardiologist said he would squeeze her in during his lunchtime today. When we got there he asked her if she wanted to be admitted. She said it was up to him but she had an appointment with her dermatologist tomorrow. He told her to get off salt and see if the swelling went down and if not he would have her checked in in a few days.

So we go to lunch in La Jolla and we head back home. I dropped her off at home and headed back to the court where I had papers to file. When I got back home, I laid down for a nap and fell into the deepest sleep I've been in in a long time. While I was sleeping, her heart doctor called and said her blood test showed her potassium level was very high. She's had this problem before with both high and low potassium and flat lined one time about 3 years ago. Her doctor didn't even want her to go to his hospital in La Jolla as he felt she may not even make it there. She had to go to our local hospital in Vista. Our dog sitter said he would take her, and I stayed home to feed the dogs. I was so out of it I couldn't even drive.

It's now 9:10 pm and she just called to say she was being admitted. Too bad she couldn't be in the hospital in La Jolla. You get a private bed with a 36" Samsung LCD and a sofa bed for any guest that might want to stay with you and they have a Phillips 32" LCD. Faye said the food there was incredible and the soups were to die for.

I guess I'll be there first thing in the morning and hope she is doing OK. She really wants to go to Vegas and see her sister who is dying of stage 4 cancer and her children and grand children. Let's hope she gets her wish as it's probably the last time she'll see her sister, and will see her 5th grandchild for the first time and celebrate her 4th grandchilds 1st birthday!
Bags, I hope Faye feels better soon.
Tell me something...why is Vegas the only place she seems to be able to meet up with her family?

I hope your dog does not suffer. You are a good dog person.
Bags I hope you make it to Vegas along with Faye getting better and your dog too.

The hospital in La Jolla and "soups were to die for"????
No siree Bob.
Bagiant,
I hope everything turns out for the better for everyone involved.

All of you are so much looking forward to this Vegas Trip / Reunion.

Just take one step at a time.
