I have no doubt that DonDiego will keep this on the QT and down low.
The Isle of Capri Casinos, this one located in beautiful Pompano Beach, Florida. It's a harness racing track, turned "Racino", and offers live poker and electronic games, slots, & VP as well as off track betting.
It's about 8 years old, and a nice enough facility built specifically for gaming next to the harness track building. They have a nice poker room, and a pretty good/decent buffet as well.
My conversation yielded the information that they no longer put prizes into the balloon drop for safety and liability issues. Makes sense, I have no problem with "no prizes", just with the semantics of the promotion that, to me, implied there would be. I received some FSP to compensate and happy with the final outcome on a personal basis. However, there were a lot of people not happy on this 'issue' who will remain so.
I've also learned the original Seminole Casino (The Classic is located next door to the Hollywood Hard Rock) also had a balloon drop to welcome the New Year, and no prizes inside them. And once again, according to 'reports', many disappointed people.
I was not aware of that promotion, nor did I see any promotional material prior to NY eve.
I will state that, to me, a "Balloon Drop" promotion always implied that prizes would be won. Times change.
It now, to me, seems as if marketing types are much less "upfront and honest" with their promotional wording, full disclosure of the promotions, and, perhaps, have less integrity than they should.
Those are the facts, and my opinion, and I'm sticking to it.
At least, for now.
