Ballys AC NJ Drinks $$$$$ ????

Ive recently stayed at all 3 CET properties in AC (Ceasers, Harrahs and Ballys). Ballys charges for drinks while next door at Ceasers/Harrahs there is no charge for drinks. Anyone know the reasoning for this???
Bally's charges at the VP bar in the lobby but drinks used to be free at the machines and table. Are you saying no free drinks anywhere or just at the VP bar? They've charged for drinks at that VP for as long as I can remember. I've even seen a guy get outraged by the no comped drink policy and demand to talk to a suit about it.
This weekend (01/10/2015) I was playing various slots/VP at Caesars/Ballys AC since both casinos are located next to each other on the Boardwalk. Both casinos machines offer cocktail service from buttons that appear on top of the machines thru a drop down menu.At Caesars there was no charge for the drinks that I ordered. After I selected the drink the menu would indicate that the drink order had been placed and when it was on its way to be delivered to me at slot. Of course I tipped the CW and found the service to be very convenient and fast. I walked next door to Ballys and repeated the process and saw prices listed next to drinks (i.e.) Bud $2, Corona $3,Rum & Coke house $3,Rum & Coke (Bicardi)$4. All though prices were reasonable there is definitely no charge at CaesarsAC or at HarrahsAC while ordering drinks with the cocktail service button on the machines.
this is new to me-----have been playing at all 3 properties for years-----just last week was playing at ballys on a vp machine on the floor-----was about 7am----ordered a coffee and orange juice from the cw and was delivered no charge---- did you have your card in the machine?

It is common for soft drinks etc. to be comped in casinos that charge for booze. The Hard Rock here in Tampa charges crazy prices for beer but coffee, coke etc are free.

Duke,
I did have my card in the machine while I was using the drink service buttons on the machine at BallysAC. (maybe there is a different policy while ordering from CW). My wife ordered an energy drink and their was a charge for that ($2). I did notice there were no prices listed for water, coffee and tea etc. I frequent AC monthly and only go to CET properties and only see a charge for alcohol drinks while using the machines drink service buttons followed by a drop down menu at BallysAC. But at HarrahsAC or CaesarsAC while using the drink service buttons on the machines their is no prices listed next to drinks while ordering.
