After taking last year off due to the birth of my beautiful son, my friends and I were back at it again this year for week 2 of the NFL Season in Vegas!
Friday night:
Uneventful SW flight from Pgh to Vegas, looooooooong 5 hours. :-(
Finally land and check in to Ballys', Platinum Check in was key and they hosted us to a regular room on the 17th floor with a view of Ellis Island! I requested the quiet part of the hotel and was granted that opportunity.
(Room was spacious, quiet and clean, just what I wanted for the price!) Bally's may be my new favorite hotel for the price and location. So glad I chose Bally's over Flamingo and Harrah's.
Fellas and I got cleaned up and met at Paris BJ table for a session of $15 hands before heading to Chateau nightclub. Up and down for close to 1.5 hours on the table but we had fun none the less. Unfortunately we sat under the "party pit" speaker that blew our ears out....but hey, who cares, it's our first night in Vegas!
-Chateau was great, awesome view of the strip and the crowd was festive. We bought V cards that granted us immediate access to the club. Great night overall!! Hit Sbarro for a little late night munchies, then off to bed.....Zzzzzzzzz. 4 hours later......ha.
Saturday morning:
Breakfast at Spice Market Buffet - PH. Yummy and especially yummy bc it was comped. Friend and I both enjoyed. Gave him a $5 off coupon from the Bally's check in coupon book, he was pumped!
Saturday Afternoon:
Rented a Cabana at T.I. (2 other buddies stayed there) for the college football games.
Pool was lively, people were festive and the weather was great! Vegas cabana's are the way to go. You get to meet people in the cabana's next to you and it's a great way to kill about 6 hours for $150 a person. (4 guys)
Caught some great rays, watched many girls twerk their asses off (glad I have 2 boys - HA!) and saw my Miami Hurricanes barely pull off the "W" against Nebraska! Wheeeeewwwwwwwww.
Saturday Night:
Ellis Island is a staple with the fellas in Vegas, 2nd night coming off the Friday night clubbin scene. We also saw Vinnie Favorito at 10pm.
Ellis Island - Best steak dinner to date, dealertainers were EPIC and the BJ table was Hotttttttttttttttt! Ellis Island is the best place in Vegas hands down!! I freakin love it there. I swear the steak dinner got better from 2 years ago.....or was I just Jones-in from the 2 year layoff??
Vinne Vinnie Vinnie - thank god you're still funny buddy bc your new venue is crap, your ushers were crap, your bar was crap and the whole experience leading up to the show was crap! I have nothing more to say except go back to a major hotel casino ASAP. You're still a funny guy but man.......what a bad venue.
Sunday day / night:
Pretty uneventful for the NFL games. I'm showing my age I think (36, ha) having 2 young boys at home (they just get up so damn early and being from the east coast in Vegas is killer!!). I was pretty pooped day 3 at Lagasse Stadium for the Steelers / 49ers game. Steelers kicked butt and I can say I had the greatest grilled chicken sandwich of all time. Holy crap, it had pesto on it, some killer cheese and tomato mash up on it. Man it was amazing! Order it next time you go. Lagasse stadium has the be the best sports bar in the USA, hands down. It's like an adult NFL / sports heaven.....nothing more to say. lol
Sunday night we hit up Canaletto at Venetian for dinner. Nothing great, 3 of 5 forks tops. The linguini with seafood pasta i had was average at best. Oh well, i was hungry so i killed it. After Venetian we hit up Ghost Bar with our V cards for free admission. Ghost Bar was fun and the view was the best! You know you're in Vegas when you hit a rooftop night club.
Well folks, sorry for being long winded but there is my trip report. Hope you enjoyed, and it gave you something to read on a lazy Friday. UNTIL NEXT YEAR....Bally's BABY!!! PEACE and LOVE, PEACE AND LOVE.
