Barry Bonds

I have been following the Barry Bonds case on ESPN.com and was curious what are everyone's thoughts on it.

Do you think he will be convicted? Personally I think that he did use steroids and I feel like he lied when he said he did not know that the cream they used on him was steroids.

However I am not to confident that the prosecution proved him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

I also figure since political threads are a no no I figured we start talking about scandals in sports.
I hope he is not convicted, then I stand a chance for my autographed ball to go up in value.

If he is convicted, I am going to place the Bonds ball next to the Pete Rose ball on a shelf that I will label "Bad Boys Balls"

Bonds has already admitted to using steroids. The issue is if he "knowingly" used them.

Not just the cream but the injections of vitamins, too.
Jury deliberation has been continued on to Monday. For them to have not reached a conclusion on Friday says that some members of the jury as of right now don't believe the prosecution proved their case.

He is one arrogant jerk that I have no sympathy for. That being said, I think the government has much bigger fish to fry than worry about whether he lied about taking steroids. Of course he did, but I'd prefer that money was spent chasing criminals that are a danger to society. Bonds, Clemens, Palmero and the like have all thrown themselves under the bus. If convicted and sent to prison, how much is that going to cost us each year to keep them? Like we have surplus to spend in this country!

Good Luck!

roulette man is correct. one of the first things taught in law school is that the longer the jury is out, the better for the defendant.

even if convicted I dont think these guys are going to do JAIL time. really? big money fines, certainly with "five years probation" included.

unless some federal prison warden needs a slugger for his team???

Great post, I am definitely not pro welfare, but with all the money spent on trying Bonds, you could feed alot of hungry children.

If convicted, Bonds will do time. $10 says so.
