Bass Pro Shops

Bass Pro Shops has heartburn with a local mom and pop in my area, they claim people would confuse The Simple Life Outfitters for a Bass Pro Shop because the two logos are so much alike. I must be missing something here. Bass Pro Shops are in a 140,00 square foot building. The Simple Life is in a 1,200 square foot building. So far this has cost the mom and pop $3000.00 in letters to defend their logo.

Being a fisherman I don't think I would confuse the two.

Here is the original story Tampa Tribune story

I never knew bass could go pro. I thought they were always amateurs.
I don't think Bass Pro has a case, the logos are sufficiently different. If I was Simple Life, I'd stop paying the attorney to write letters. I think the article says Simple Life has spent $300 on letters, not $3,000. $300 worth should be plenty.

However, to put this to bed, Simple Life might consider changing the fish on the right of its logo some. Doing that would destroy what little argument Bass Pro has.
Bass Pro has deep pockets.... likely time for your parents to pull up anchor, move to another spot with less blood sucking mosquitoes.
