Of all the high profile incidents in recent years not one cop has been convicted of murder. Most of the time they haven't even been indicted.
In May 2015 Baltimore's top prosecutor, Marilyn J. Mosby, announced charges against six police officers in the death of Mr. Freddie Gray, who had been arrested for carrying an illegal switchblade.
So far:
__Officer William G. Porter trial ended with a hung jury in december 2015.
__Officer Edward M. Nero was acquitted in May 2016 of second-degree assault and three other charges.
__Officer Caesar R. Goodson Jr., the driver of the police van, was acquitted in June 2016 of second-degree murder and six other charges.
__Lt. Brian Rice was acquitted of involuntary manslaughter and two other charges in July 2016.
__Trials of Officer Garrett E. Miller and Sgt. Alicia White are pending.
__Officer William G. Porter is awaiting a retrial.
So officers charged with murder and manslaughter and assault have been tried and acquitted.
hoops2 is correct: no one has yet been convicted.
What would hoops2 suggest ? Double/multiple jeopardy until they
are convicted? A dunking pool to see if they sink?
Or accepting the verdict as rendered in accordance with The Law?
