Baton Rouge: 7 Police Officers Shot, 3 Killed

If you have to go back decades for something to fit your agenda, you just might be on the wrong track. Are there some questionable police shootings? I think there are..... Cleveland and another in Chicago stand out. But the whole script of chips hunting black men is nuts. Are there questionable shootings of wires by chips? My guess is there could be. But those deaths don't fit the narrative needed here.
You may THINK you know what happened, but to convict you need to be able to prove it. I haven't seen proof yet and neither has anyone else here.

No one is saying that. But it's proven beyond any doubt that blacks get profiled. And when there are questionable shootings, over and over again the DA's don't bring charges. And it's well known in corruption cases that it's nearly impossible to get a cop to testify against another. You don't think that happens in brutality cases?

And even the lab techs are in on it. Finally, one tech was sentenced to prison recently.

Go back just a few years and no one was talking about all of these shootings and brutality cases. The difference now: smartphones.

I wish we knew the number of incidents where cops chased African American suspects, and had the right to engage them, but stopped their pursuit because they didn't want to take a chance of losing their job and pension. To advocate the cops are hunting black suspects shows we have some very racist liberals on this board.

The better term is racially profiling, and yes, it's proven that blacks get profiled all the time.

In New York City's stop and frisk program, stats showed that people of color were stopped WAY out of proportion to their numbers even though they were LESS likely to be found carrying contraband than whites.

And this is a few years old, but according to the FBI while rates of marijuana use between blacks and whites is comparable, blacks are twice as likely to be arrested.

And don't tell me you've never heard of Driving While Black. This is an anecdote, not data, but I used to know a black Southern California cop who drove Porsche. He told me of the many times he was stopped, and how he would freeze gripping the wheel on top and eyes faced forward, and tell the officers where his badge and gun were located. That was a few years ago - these days he's probably sticking both hands out the window.

And from five days ago, a recording of a supervisor yelling at a NYPD cop for not targeting minorities.

This is an incredibly partial list. And cops who racially profile are violating the constitutional rights of victims, and they should be jailed for it. But in reality, they're rarely even fired. And now that the proof is recorded on smartphones, good cops are getting killed. If you ever defend racial profiling, then you are complicit.

As usual with forky you only get part of the story. Forky neglects to mention that the judge on the case who was mentioned in the article was removed from the case due to her lack of impartiality

12% of the population (Black) causing/being involved in 75% of crimes committed, happening in mostly Black populated areas of the cities - where would YOU look and who would YOU look at when a crime has been committed? If this is being referred to as 'Profiling", then common sense says "so be it". Most murders and capital crimes involving Blacks is Black on Black crimes. Apparently Blacks must be profiling fellow Blacks when murdering each other.
