Bellagio Buffet Report

I just got home from Vegas. We made a point of going to the Bellagio buffet, because it "claims" to be one of the best. We were seriously disappointed. We went for lunch. The staff was very snooty. There was nothing special about the food. I kid you not...they had hamburgers (sliders), pizza, roast chicken- food you expect to see at the Gold Coast for 1/3 the price. Many items were not labeled or labeling incorretly. What gives??? Do they save the "good food" (like the beef wellingtons I heard about) for the Sunday and holiday brunch so they can charge even more? My advice is save your money and hit a buffet elsewhere. Oh, and there is a sign at they register (that you only get to see AFTER you wait 45 minutes to an hour in line) that asks that customers limit their stay at the buffet to 2 hours.

1. I tend to agree with you....I think Wynn is far superior.
2. In all fairness....you did lunch not dinner. There could be a difference in "what" is served.
3. You are complaining about a 2 hour 'limit' ???? How many times do you go back ?????
There is really no excuse for the snotty staff or sad buffet. Of course what you encountered is a picture of today's Vegas.
I love Bellagio hotel and casino, but our one buffet experience there was underwhelming. It was 4-5 year ago. Not snotty, in fact the guy who watched our table/kept the drinks coming etc. was the highlight of the experience. Otherwise it was like cattle car crowded, people running over us like they hadn't eaten in a month. Food was OK but nothing to wait in line for.

Maybe this is par for the course for buffet lovers. Not for us. Wynn was OK, not great.

I like to hit the weekend brunch. I think the selection has dropped last couple of trips I have made (July and December 2011). I thought July was due to a holiday weekend where they were charging more and delivering less, but the December trip confirmed a drop in what I had come to expect from prior visits.
Do they still have the small bar/bistro in the center? You to be able cut the line, go right into the bar/bistro, and do the buffet.
I agree. 5 years ago it was great, the bestp. Sunday brunch last May 2011 was a major let down.

I have never had lunch at Belaggio, but we had Friday dinner there last year and it was awesome! As for Wynn, see my latest trip report. It was nothing to write home about. We were not impressed, it actually sucked and it was dinner. Not even close to Belaggio dinner. Although the gelato bar was awesome.
Makes me glad we decided against it last trip. Being on a budget, figured the cost vs other tried and true for significantly less was the right thing for us at the time.

Just a side note, when I say tried and true I am referring to the 24 hr pass for harrahs and actually only ate PH buffet, it was always fantastic for us, lots of fresh hot food and kept it pouring out of the kitchen. Did that twice in our week at PH.
