Benny's BBQ and Brews

Has anyone here eaten at this place in Binions? Any opinions?
Yes, I ate there right after it opened in July. I had the ribs and chicken combo. The meat was smoked fairly well but the portions were small. I find it odd that they didn't offer any sauce or there wasn't any on the table but I'm not complaining. They might have had some if I asked. I'm just used to BBQ places in Texas where you walk through a line instead of being served. They will ask you if you want sauce. The beans were okay but they were in a tiny cup. I don't eat Cole Slaw so I have no opinion on that. The Corn on the Cob was fine. I didn't care for the cornbread. It was very dry and crumbled into pieces upon taking a bite.

In conclusion, it's okay if you really have a craving for BBQ but I wouldn't make a special trip downtown just to have it. Note, it's only open in the evenings as I learned when I walked over from the Four Queens for lunch and I did choose to come back later.
In one of his reports, Sionow ate there and said it was good. We have had the BBQ at Ellis Island many times and have never been disappointed.
