Surprisingly, Time Magazine presents a pretty fair summary of the "Bergdahl Release" and subsequent events, . . . and even discusses potential impacts on future events.
DonDiego does question that the major thrust of the piece is that perhaps The Obama negotiated poorly in exchanging 5 Taliban Commanders for 1 Sergeant (Sergeant Bergdahl was a Private First Class when he went missing in 2009. He was automatically promoted twice while in captivity. He was promoted to the rank of specialist in June 2010 and then sergeant in June 2011.) It is DonDiego's understanding that the entire negotiation comprised the Taliban leadership explicitly demanding the 5 Taliban Commanders for Sergeant Bergdahl, and The Obama saying "OK".
DonDiego supposes this is pretty much how The Obama's negotiations with Iran over nuclear weapons development is going.
DonDiego trusts that, in the event Sergeant Bergdahl is imprisoned, pjstroh will visit him. It is the least he could do.
***EDITED TO ADD***
Just so DonDiego is not accused of inconsistency in discussing "treason", . . . not that inconsistency is necessarily a bad thing, . . . DonDiego does not opine that Sergeant is guilty of treason.
"18 U.S. Code ยง 2381 - Treason
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States."
