The bern speaks

and what I beleive is exactly the truth on the real reason DT won.

During a fascinating and free-wheeling town hall-style event on Chris Hayes' show on MSNBC Monday night, Sanders was explicit: Trump's criticisms of political correctness spoke to the American people's legitimate fury toward a political class and media regime that is overly-scripted and beholden to the powerful."[Trump] was going after these consensus things but he was always saying things frankly that when we talk about political correctness are basically just rules about not being a jerk," said Hayes. "He's violating taboos that a lot of people think we should keep."

But Sanders hit back. "He was talking about the media," said Sanders. "Do people here think the media reflects the reality of American society?"

The audience, needless to say, was none too pleased with the media.

"One of the arguments as to why Trump won," Sanders continued, "is the belief that most or many of his supporters are sexists or racists or homophobes. I happen not to believe that's the case. I think what he did do is he said, 'You know what, there's a lot of pain in this country, people are scared and people are worried.' People are tired of status quo politics. He broke through that."

Another round of Democratic Party operatives and pro-Clinton hacks will probably label Sanders a white supremacist for making these comments. And that's why they lost.

"[Trump] said he will not be politically correct," said Sanders. "I think he said some outrageous and painful things, but I think people are tired of the same old politically correct rhetoric. I think some people believe he was speaking from his heart and willing to take on everybody."

I thinkThe Bern actually hit the nail on the head. While there's a handful of racists jerks I think far and away it was all about the people the Bern just described. I think Hill supporters have nothing else to grasp onto except the race thing "Why, it can be the ONLY possible answer to this tragedy that brought about a DT win, the only one. "Why these couple incidents around the country arePROVING that everyday", aren't they?

All the cops being shot seemingly everyday? Doesn't matter man, my GOD don't you see? We have people being obnoxious on airplanes! and jerks walking into a church acting like offensive A-HOLES! Get on board people or these offending assclowns might strike again! Don't worry, the cops can take care of themselves we need to be worried about the true offenders in this country...TRUMP SUPPORTERS!!
Bernie is wrong! I know this, because Mally, Forkie, and Billy have told us that almost all GOP voters are racist, homophobes and baby killers. We also hate old people, and we kick the dog. On a side note, this racist is staying with Dom's and his family while visiting Indianapolis this weekend.

Hey, hey, . . . HEY ! Go easy on that "old people" stuff !

I'm surprised no Trump haters have said anything about this. Thee absolute most popular liberal in the political world right now say's "the belief that most or many.....", completely contradicting the entire hillary supporters accusations.

Then again, no I'm not surprised. Some jerk yells crap on a plane and it's a thread, something like this.... {chirp}

You mean anecdotes don't represent a broader population ? like when you post a story about some kids at a college nobody ever heard of? Practice what you preach and you might be in a position to scorn others who don't.

In hindsight I think Trump's victory seems obvious in the states where it mattered. He told rust belt workers he would save their jobs....and simultaneously tied Hillary Clinton to NAFTA which is abhorred in those states. Regardless if that was bullshit or not he spoke to their biggest concern ....and Hillary didn't. I hope he follows through on the promises he made to those workers. Carrier was a good start IMO. We'll see.

I'll tell you one thing - I don't care how many EPA regulations get rolled back. Coal is dead. Anyone who tells the people of Appalachia their future career path lies in coal is lying to them. Trump better find another way to put those people to work. Putting Peabody Energy in charge of the EPA is not going to do it.
Trump can resuscitate coal by banning fracking. Natural gas is killing coal.
I was just reading that much of the money Carrier is committing to the plant is modernizing it with robots. That will certainly make the workers feel secure.

You mean the story about the students who burned the flag in Mass. whereby the administration took all flags down on campus to "promote discussion" (or some such bullshit) and hundreds of vets showed up with hundreds of flags that made the national news compared to Mals postings nobody has ever heard of? Well, yea guilty.

You are correct about DT getting out the right message to the right people while the hill really had no message. Her claim in Mi. about putting all those coal miners out of business and the next week speaking in Ky about how she "misspoke" was one of her stupidest moments.

Coal actually died a while back and it's barely hung on, actually I'm surprised it's lasted this long. I'm pretty knowledgeable in the area, my family's been in the coal business since '72. My dad bought out a strip mine operation then and when '74 came along with the oil embargo, BOOM! coal went from 6 bucks a ton to 36 bucks, talk about timing. It slowed down immensely in the 80's and by the 90's all the small time miners were mostly out and only the big guys left.
Once whatever coal fired plants that are left die will be the end of any major coal production, gas has/will take over, cheap, lots of it and easily accesible in the East coast markets anyway. The Marcellus formation has pretty much sparked the new boom in Wva, and Pa. , people have poured into those states. When I go home (N central Wva) it seems to have grown exponentially every time. Drillers are everywhere and it is a complete;ly new BOOM.

Those workers need to educate themselves, in more ways than one.

Trump can't bring back all the manufacturing jobs to the U.S. He knows it too, but he is a politician now and is going to say whatever he thinks the voters want to hear. The difference we are seeing now is that he is running around actually trying to save/make SOME jobs. I believe he is actually sincere in his efforts. A lot of state politicians are like that when they first get elected, then they realize the futility and give up to become stereotypical government workers.
Today, our President Elect reignited a fued from thirty years ago. The editor of Vanity Fair was the first man to point out Trump's small hands, and Trump evidently has never forgotten it.
