Best Prime rib deals

I love prime rib and have had it at a lot of pricy restaurants but the one at Ellis Island was the best I've ever had. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection.

Although I haven't tried it, Siegel's 1941 at El Cortez claims to have the same Prime Rib from the days of Roberta's and the Flame.

ROAST PRIME RIB OF BEEF AU JUS*
12 Oz. Queen Cut 22. | 16 Oz. King Cut 28.
Slow Roasted, Hand Cut: An El Cortez Classic, Served With Au Jus

Use the LVA 2 for 1 Entre and the price is $11 or $14.

The old special was $7.95 and included a salad. The PR for lunch is now $11.95, thin as hell and it's $3 for a side salad. $8 vs $15. They even charged me $1 for a dollop of sour cream. I had it twice and it was extremely mediocre.
The only decently priced meal in the casino these days is their Jackie Burger for $6. Their NY style pizza is a joke.
Ok..Sorry I think we're talking about two different things. I'm talking about the big Prime's they used to serve at Roberta's or Flame. They were always in the $20-$25 range...High Quality and a great deal with the old LVA 1/2 off. Those same hunks of beef are still available for $22 or $28 at Siegels' (or so they say). Still a great deal with the LVA 2 for 1. I think you're talking about the special at the old Café Cortez.

I had one of those puppies in December. It was surprisingly good. And with the LVA 1/2 off, only around $7.50.

The trouble with Siegals is it tries to be all things to all people. You end up having a party of four celebrating something with steaks and wine sitting next to someone having two eggs on a $3 comp. Its not a steakhouse, but charges too much to be a coffee shop. Its a rare misfire from the management which has really done wonders with the EC since I first stayed there in 2001.

The only problem I have with the Ellis Island deal is the lack of good horseradish. The mild sauce in the paper container is a deal killer for me.
After seeing pictures of the Ellis Island kitchen after they were closed down by the Health Department a couple of years ago, I don't know if I could ever trust them again.
I agree with triple d 228 that the horseradish at Fremont buffet will blow your brains out but that's exactly how I like it. As for au jus, I like savory and flavorful, sometimes it is watery and bland, so I drink it like soup instead.

Its was probably a good business move to combine the two restaurants into one. lets face it - EC's restaurants dont make any money. They're just places for players to spend comps.

If you gamble at all there's no reason to ever pay for a meal at Siegals. Prices are severely discounted when you pay with points - especially when you achieve the incredibly easy to get "Saphire" Status in the players club (or higher). My biggest problem at El Cortez now is I accumulate comps faster than I can spend them. The most expensive entree at Siegels is $25 which is cut in half when you pay with points.
I dont know good horseradish from bad, but the stuff at The EC is just right, to me. Eye watering but tasty.

I think grated fresh is the difference.
I prefer it straight up as opposed to the mayo-mix-blend.
