Best Steak Dinner Downtown Vegas?

We ate at the Flame and also weren't too impressed with it. We felt like we had a coffee shop dinner with a coffee shop server at steakhouse prices. With a 50% off coupon it was "okay", but I'd never consider paying full price to eat there again.
With the coupon, The Flame is playable. Without a coupon it is not a consideration.
We've been to Binion's, Hugo's, Redwood and Roberta's (now known as the Flame).

Binion's - Crappy service, lack of class, overrated view. Food was ok.
Hugo's - a little snooty, expensive, excellent service, excellent food. Wife loves the salad cart.
Redwood - a step up in class from Ellis Island. Very busy, overworked servers, food was about the same as Ellis Island. Nothing special but good for the price.
Flame (Roberta's) - with the lights up, it's a coffee shop but turn the lights down and it transforms into a nice place. Best steak in Vegas for the money. Drink wine, not soda.
kaypea - definitely eat at the flame but definitely dont consider it a splurge meal.

if you have the acg or pov (i forget what this is called now, im senile) your meal will be about $15.

eat there and splurge elsewhere.

When Binion's was still owned by Benny Binion, their steakhouse was the best in town. They raised cattle on their Montana ranch and then slaughtered and aged the beef before sending the steaks to their steakhouse. When I first ate their you could cut the steaks with a butter knife. I haven't eaten there in a long time, but the last time it was still good. My GF always ordered their escargot.

We had a restaurant.com coupon for The Flame. The food was tasty, and service was great. But what ruined it was looking at the bill.
They charged 2.50 for soda (which I'm ok with). The pepsi came in a small slim glass (similar to a champagne flute -- holds about 6 ounces). No problem though, we can just drink and refill.
Here's the kicker....They charged for each and every refill $2.50. We drank $30 in Pepsi (of which, only 3 people ordered a soft drink!!!)
That ruined our dinner.

My 2 cents

that is really interesting to know about the Flame. Charging $2.50 for about a nickel's worth of soda AND charging for refills is ridiculous! However, I don't know if I have ever had a beverage with dinner in Vegas that didn't involve alcohol, so I still personally like the Flame. but still.....ridiculous!

Why no love for Vic and Anthony's at GN? It's on my list to try. Anyone ever eaten there?
when i was there in december, i got free refills (on iced tea). if they charge for refills, thats pretty dumb.
Thanks everyone for the replies. I still am undecided and will probably play it by ear while I'm there. Flame sounds like definitely the way to go with the MRB which I don't have as most coupons, unlike Flame, are 2-for-1 rather than 50% and 2-for-1 does a solo traveler like me no good. I've wanted to go to Ruth Chris for a long time but will wait and go at home as there is one just a few miles from my house.

For just a nice dinner, steak or BBQ I like to go to Tony Roma's at downtown Las Vegas Fremont Hotel. Always had a good meal there...at a reasonable price.
