Better shot at Fisker?

Hopefully this little car maker makes it, it is a pretty cool looking car. I wonder why they build the thing in Finland? Well anyway, best of luck to the new guy hope he makes it work.

DonDiego shares jatki99's well wishes that Fisker Automotive succeed.

It faces some obstacles:
__There was some unpleasantness when Consumer Reports tried to test a $107,850 Fisker Karma earlier this year. While attempting to calibrate the auto's speedometer, the vehicle's transmission "wouldn't engage any gear through its electronic shifter except Park and Neutral." CR commented "We buy about 80 cars a year and this is the first time in memory that we have had a car that is undriveable before it has finished our check-in process." Ref: USA Today
__And yesterday Reuters reported "Fisker Automotive, a green car company that received funding from the U.S. government, is recalling about 2,400 Karma plug-in hybrids to repair a faulty cooling fan unit that was the cause of a vehicle fire in Woodside, California last week."

"Best of Luck !"
I guess they need a few more bucks to work out the little kinks in the tranny, gotta get over that little hump to be able to engage propulsion. I'm confident they'll work it out.

Fisker recalling 2,400 electric cars ? THE HORROR !

How bout Toyota recalling another 760,000 vehicles for suspension defects ?

Why, whenever someone brings up an unfortunate incident regarding an engineering failure in an automotive product, does someone else have to refer to an unrelated engineering defect in another manufacturer's automobiles?

Like, . . . what would the reader think if DonDiego reported on the recall of 249,260 midsize GM SUVs for a possible fire hazard just announced today ?

See! Totally unrelated to the original post! DonDiego suspects some would not like it. So he doesn't do it, . . . except as a bad example.

And this is precisely why poor old DonDiego refrained earlier in this thread from commenting on jatki99's question: "I wonder why they build the thing in Finland?" It is a most pertinent question because of the" $529-million [US] government loan that was the cornerstone of [Fisker Motors] business plan." This loan was approved before Fisker changed its mind and moved the Karma manufacturing plant from Delaware to Finland, . . . too expensive to build in the USA.
The Company now seeks additional funding, . . . and intends, just as before, to make the next model in the Good Old USA.
As DonDiego's Grandpap used to say: "Fool DonDiego once, shame on the fooler. Fool DonDiego twice, shame on DonDiego."
