Betting on football question--yes, an actual vegas related question

I will be in Las Vegas this Saturday (yeah me!) and want to bet on the Patriots beating the Rams this week and possibly a few other football /hockey games and I am basically clueless how the process goes.....but I am smart enough to ask you guys!
Anyway, I am just looking into the basics right now, what web site can I go to find out what odds Vegas has for any given game? I went to William Hill's web site and a pop up came up saying you cant even go to this betting web site because on line gambling is illegal in the USA.
Any "positive" tips would be appreciated.

Almost any newspaper will have the latest line for NFL games in the sports section. Most sports book folks will be happy to help with making your wager - just let them know exactly what bet you want to make (Patriots to cover the spread, probably.) Safe travels and good luck!

You want to know a secret way to get guaranteed wins at sports betting in Vegas? If you have a smartphone, I have a system that cannot lose. If there is interest, I am willing to explain it here.

Sports Betting 101

If you are inclined to bet on the Patriots, you have two basic choices.

1) Bet using the point spread and you need to give the Rams 13.5 points. So if the Patriots win by 14 or more you win the bet. If you bet $100, you would get back $190 --- your original $100 plus $90 more. The house keeps 10%

2) The other choice is betting the money line where you win if the Patriots win, even if it is by just one point. The odds I am seeing right now have the Patriots anywhere between -700 to -900. So, lets say the line is -800. This means a bet of $80 would win $10 if the Patriots win.

I highly recommend getting a copy of Gaming Today magazine. They usually have them for free at the Westgate sports book. Page 12 has every bookie in Vegas (46 of them) pick every game every week and keeps track of their record last week and year to date. This helps me tremendously with my football picks. This week 28 of the 46 bookies like the Patriots giving 13.5 points. This biggest consensus this week has 37 of 46 bookies taking the 49er's getting 3.5 points against the Chicago Bears in Chicago, but the bookie with the best YTD record is taking the Bears.....go figure!

Vegas Insider is a pretty good site for odds.

As DonDiego types one can get Pats-13 at MGM sports books and Pats-13½ pretty much everywhere else.

The line opened at -13½, so not much movement yet; the total opened at 46 and has fallen to 44½ or 45.

I'd like to know your "cant lose" system. I'm going the weekend of the 10th & 11th and plan to do a lot of football betting.
