As much as I love lettuce and tomato, I don't put them on a burger. The ruffage slows down the digestive system causing your body to absorb more calories and fat. Without the lettuce and tomato the hamburger works its way through your system faster so a 900-calories cheeseburger zips through at 200 or 300 calories instead. You don't hear nutritionists talk much about that.
