The Biggest Idiot in Wendover

Cheap 3-4 day fly in trips from Denver.
Don't play blackjack.
I agree with treegirl except for roulette.
GW:

1. Why the hell would you care how badly your neighbor is playing? Their inaccurate play helps you just as often as it hurts you. To believe otherwise is pure voodoo.

2. I could see how Royal Match would annoy an advantage player because it slows the game down, but otherwise it's none of your business. The only way advantage play exist in ANY game is that other players lose big. So unless you're with friends, be grateful next time players take that bet.

3. Why would you offer unsolicited advice at the table and be annoyed when it's ignored? That's just rude.

4. Why would an advantage player go out of his way to be noticeable to the pit by telling other players what to do and by swearing?

If part of your "act" is to be superstitious, obnoxious, and obvious, mission accomplished. Otherwise, I don't get it.
[So, . . . other than that, . . . how was the trip?

1. Yep - unless the decks are hand-dealt, the deck is super rich toward the player and the player is an ace card counter - in which case jump to your 4,

2. Yep to first sentence.

3. Yep

4. Yep

I think you misunderstood what I wrote (or meant). I was referring to an equal opportunity bad player, that is, someone who sometimes hits when they should stand, and sometimes stands when they should hit - NOT someone who just hits too much. So in that case, even with a super-positive deck, they are just as likely to help as hurt, right? (But if "bad players" overall tend to hit too much, then you are right.)
To those who asked, I finished my trip to Wendover as a winner. However, it felt like a losing session from the very start when I saw that the 10 and 11 double-down rule was in effect. After that, everything annoyed me more than usual...as you can surmise from my writings.

I cursed more, I let the actions of other players bother me, and I stewed at the table every time someone slowed the game by paying the Royal Match side bet. I was in town 54 hours but only played BJ about 8 hours. Normally, I would've played about 52.5 hours on a 54-hour trip to Wendover.

I'm known for my humor, but this trip was a bummer. I'll try to be my happy-go-lucky self the next time that I make a post.

Glen, How do you feel about playing the side bet Lucky Ladies? I know the experts hold the opinion that all side bets are sucker bets, but I've had some good wins with Lucky Ladies.

The only time that I've played that sidebet was when the shoe was almost finished and the lucky ladies hadn't shown themselves yet. I didn't do it long. I never showed a profit from counting the queens. Plus, trying to beat the side bet distracted from my normal card-counting and ace-tracking routine.
