Bill Clinton on The Obama

"Now, if you don’t believe we can all grow together again, if you don’t believe were ever going to grow again, if you believe it’s more important to re-litigate the past, there may be many reasons that you don’t want to support her.

But if you believe we can all rise together, if you believe we’ve finally come to the point where we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us and the seven years before that when we were practicing trickle-down economics and no regulation in Washington, which is what caused the crash, then you should vote for her because she’s the only person who basically had good ideas, will tell you how she’s going to pay for them, can be commander in chief, and is a proven change maker with Republicans and Democrats and Independents alike.”

__DonDiego believes it is important to "re-litigate" the past; the past is where the subjects of litigation occurred.
__DonDiego does believe "we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us, and the citizenry should do whatever is necessary to correct the problems caused by those years.
__Since when did Bill Clinton start recognizing these things? He shoulda said something earlier.

Many people believe that deregulation of the banking industry and specifically the repeal of the Glass-Steagle act was THE major contributor to 'the crash'. I don't happen to be one of them, but Former President Clinton appears to be...when he states '....and no regulation in Washington, which is what caused the crash'. Of course he fails to mention he supported this major reform of banking regulations and signed it into law in 1999. Perhaps that's why people who want to re-litigate the past may not want to support her.

Now as to his comment on the 'awful legacy of the last 8 years'...that's just bizarre for him to say that. Maybe it depends on what the definition of 'awful legacy' is.
I'm skeptical of the context, considering the partisan source The Weekly Standard. Same hesitation with left wing organizations and my crazy Uncle Fred.

Yes. Maybe it was out of context or just misspoke. This would be a pretty big change in strategy.

The quote is accurate.

DonDiego expects the apologists to soon "correct" the record nonetheless.
It's a question of context obviously whenever an openly partisan media reports. Same with lefty blogs or publications.

That's odd, Hillary's been doing nothing but praising Obama and continuing on with his legacy during the debates and what little of her town halls I watched. Truly odd.

Well, . . . well, . . . welly, well, well, well . . . . .

A very brief history:

Bill Clinton (2008): “A few years ago, this guy [The Obama] would have been carrying our bags.”__to Senator Edward Kennedy in an effort to secure his endorsement for The Hillary for President

Bill Clinton (21 March 2016): ". . . if you believe we’ve finally come to the point where we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us, . . . then you should vote for her [The Hillary] . . ."__in a campaign speech for The Hillary

DonDiego (21 March 2016): "DonDiego expects the apologists to soon 'correct' the record, . . ."

The Hillary (24 March 2016): "It wasn't; it obviously was not. He [Bill Clinton] nominated Obama for his second term and we are both very proud supporters of President Obama. But what it was, . . . was that President Obama, . . . has faced this implacable wall of hostility from The Republicans, . . . ."
__in response to Jimmie Kimmel's suggestion that Bill Clinton's remark, above, was "a shot" at The Obama

It took the apologists 3 days to come up with the "correction" to the record which poor old DonDiego forecast, . . . and, as it turns out, . . . it is all the fault of The Republicans. DUH !
Q4 GDP growth was 1.4%

Obamacare costs are going up faster than wages (we were promised a cut).

Was Billy C correct about the past 8 years?
