I have heard of bad beat jackpots, and the "high hand" for the day jackpot but not just a jackpot.

I suspect that the use of "jackpot", in the original context of the message above, was generic and referring to whatever room promotion there is currently.
It could be high hand, 4 AOK, Royal, bad beat, etc. Often progressive, but not always.
