BJ matchplay

How does the matchplay work? Does the coup only work on one hand or does it stay out there til you hit a natural21?

J
The coupon works on one hand. Simply hand over the coupon, play the hand, and if you win you get the money, if not no biggie. You've just lost paper.
However, on the other hand a BJ bonus coupon (like the one for Terrible's) will work until you hit a natural.
OK, that makes sense. It'd be a pretty crummy coupon if it only worked for one hand having to hit 21 on it.

Not exactly.
First you must put up an equal amount in cash
Most places let you use the coupon until you either win or loss a hand. If you push a hand, the MP is not lost. Only place I know that you lose the MP on a tie is Ellis island.
If you lose a hand, you've lost your bet plus the match play coupon.
If you win, you get paid double your bet.
Most places don't pay you extra for a bJ on the MP portion of your bet, although some do.
I had one dealer that let a MP coupon sit through a couple of wins and only took it when I lost. I say dealer instead of casino as I doubt that was house policy at the time but who am I to question casino policy.
It happens. It really shouldn't but it does.
