BK Whopper Bar opening at the Rio

Walked by this yesterday. It's on the upper floor above seafood buffet.

Why would they put this at the Rio and in that horrible spot? I give it 9 months until it fails.

It's not on the BK site yet but I assure you I walked by it yesterday at the Rio and it is currently under construction.

Is this just a BK restaurant or is it an actual bar?

It does seem an odd place to put BK on. Unless they come up with a really interesting and different concept to drive the traffic, then this place will really not last long.

With all of the gourmet burger bars opening, why would anybody want a Whopper, when they can do much better?

I'm not a Burger King hater although their mascot has got to go - that plastic-faced-king gives me the creeps.

I doubt the overhead is much greater than a normal Burger King so the idea of putting one in the RIO doesn't strike me as any more risky than Subway putting a franchise into any of the 100 resorts that it does. Now if they are charging $10 for a burger or something then thats a different story.

Its an adult only(?) upscale eatery that is more like a sports bar that serves BK food, from what I understand. Believe the first one was in Miami. They have one in NYC but I've never been there.
They serve a pizza burger that is made from four whopper patties.

I'll talk to my brother in law and see what the deal is. Although upscale or not, BK is not my eating selection for a fancy place.

It's gonna be a bar/Burger King with better quality toppings and offer different choices then a normal BK.

Something tells me there will be no $1 menu or BOBO free Whopper deals at this location.
