BLACK FRIDAY

It's time once again for one of my favorite American traditions.

No, not stuffing my face with everything in sight, crashing on the couch, and watching lousy football. It's watching people camp out to trample each other trying to save 5 bucks on a waffle iron!!!

Other than that, anybody out there have any deals that are actually worthwhile??
Staples is where all the action is this year.

Dicks has ammo on sale. Buy one second one half price.
Blackberry Playbook $199, free anti-virus and a Laser Printer for $55 to name a few items that interest me.

Best Buy is opening at midnight. They claim they have a 42" flat screen television (limit 10 per store) for two hundred and change. They also state you must have a ticket. Are tickets given to people in line? Why go to bed on Thanksgiving if a store is opening at midnight?

Yeah, they go out an hour or two before store opens and hand out tickets. They just start at the front of the line and go 'do you want (item)'. Normally the first 10-15 people grab all of those tickets, then have like a little secondary market where the people who get tickets offer them... for a fee. We went out a couple of years ago and saw one guy make like 300 bucks just selling tickets. He said he had been there since 3pm on Thurs, so it was a great way to spend Thanksgiving... but to each their own I guess.

I'm just hoping airlines will be offering specials on Friday/Monday... I'd like to go ahead and book my airfare to Vegas for March since my room is booked.
I see where WalMart will start Black Friday at 10pm on Thanksgiving night.

You don't have to wait for Black Friday for that price on the Blackberry Playbook. That's what they dropped it down to last week as the regular price. However, you may be out of luck since they were shown as out of stock/backordered pretty much everywhere as soon as that latest price drop was announced. Looks like Playbook is headed the way of the dodo!
I'm hoping to pick up an extra External Hard Drive from somewhere...thinking maybe Microcenter or Best Buy might have a good deal on these on Friday...we'll see
