Bob Dancer's new progressive games at the M

Thanks Arc, I agree and appreciate everything youve said.

I do have my doubts about this one, however: "Sure, some of those will be won by the Gretas, but that is not the norm."

I've seen a lot of lucky Gretas. And that team from Reno has been striking out lately at Rincon, as I posted above.

One other thing I thought about is that yes, I think the casinos do "bank on" player errors and I think that is part of their formula for deciding to offer even video poker with positive paytables. They bank of player errors the same way they bank on non card counters playing blackjack, and random rollers (non dice influencers) at craps. And if there were more experts at craps and blackjacks and video poker, the paytables would be reduced even more on all games. I dont blame the casinos for making a profit-- they need to make a profit to keep their doors open, give the free drinks, subsidize the buffets, give the free rooms, etc.

Unlike most casino games where the executives think it will be a looser, but they offer it anyway to see if they can get lucky.
Kaypea, do you mean "looser" or "loser" ?

I meant loser because the the casinos know just as well as you do that games with an RNG are completely dependent on random luck and they won't know until the end f the month if they had a winning or losing month.

Very interesting, kaypea. does this mean the casino execs have no faith in their own paytables on the VP machines? perhaps Arcimedes would like to comment?

The Gretas will get there RFs about every 40K hands like everyone else. So will the team players. However, streaks can occur, both good and bad, it's part of the game. Eventually, the math comes through loud and clear.

Hold it Arc. I have a question about this: "The Gretas will get there RFs about every 40K hands like everyone else. So will the team players. However, streaks can occur, both good and bad, it's part of the game. Eventually, the math comes through loud and clear."

Are you saying that the Gretas of the world have the same chance as the team players to hit these progressive royals? I think you are. Well, that throws a monkey wrench into the plans of the "teams" to win these, doesn't it? Unless the teams will strong arm other players away from the games at the "right time."
Your Gretas will hit more or fewer than their share depending on which strategy mistakes they make and none at all when they play less than full coin in. This is where the casino will make its profit. The Gretas also probably don't know when a situation becomes profitable in the first place and will be playing in a situation that the expert would pass up.

Ignoring strategies for now every player has the same chances. If there were 5 team players and poor little Greta then the team has 5x the chances of hitting the RF. Naturally, as Oobie mentioned, this will vary a little based on the exact strategies employed.

It won't make that much difference. The team will still hit their share the RFs based on the amount they play. You never know, a quick win by Greta could even save the team money every now and then.

thanks. one more question, and then this wraps it up for me:

the chart from the casino says that the Double Bonus game will be almost at 100% (exact figure is 99.942%) when the royal reaches 10-thousand on the $1 game. Am I correct that each hand played at the $1 group of games will raise the progressive on the Double Bonus game by two and one-half cents (2.5-cents)?

Since I have trouble adding two plus two, how many hands must be played before this game becomes positive with the royal at $10,000 ?? Is it 240-thousand hands?? Is that correct?? And if that is true it seems to me this game will never have a chance to reach a positive payback since a royal should come along every 40-thou hands or so.

set me straight please.

edited to add: I just consulted with someone who does know the math. and yes, after 240,000 all of the games should be at about 100% payback unless a royal is hit earlier. And in 240,000 hands, we should see about six royals with those games resetting back to 4,000 coins.

I think its going to be a reach to find any of these games reaching the advertised big paybacks? sure it could happen, but what are the chances according to you math guys??

It seems to me that most if not all of these games will always be negative games for the players. again, set me straight, please.
