Bombing Agrabah ?

On December 16 and 17, 2015 Public Policy Polling asked self-identified likely primary voters if the United States should bomb Agrabah.

The result:

30% support bombing Agrabah
13% opposed bombing Agrabah
57% were "not sure"

Democrats
19% support bombing Agrabah
36% opposed bombing Agrabah
45% were "not sure"

On 20 December, 2015 WPA Research polled whether the United States should accept refugees from Agrabah.

The result:

Democrats
44% support accepting refugees from Agrabah
27% oppose accepting refugees from Agrabah
28% are "indifferent" on the issue

Young Democrats (ages 18-to-34)
66% support accepting refugees from Agrabah
22% oppose accepting refugees from Agrabah
12% are "indifferent" on the issue

[No Republican results are provided.]

It should be noted that Agrabah is the mythical kingdom in which Aladdin resides in the Disney film.

So what can the interested reader, if any, draw from these polls?

43% of Republicans polled took a position on bombing/not bombing a fictitious country.
55% of Democrats polled took a position on bombing/not bombing a fictitious country.
71% of Democrats took a position on accepting/not accepting refugees from a fictitious country.
88% of Young Democrats took a position on accepting/not accepting refugees from a fictitious country.

Conclusion:

The people responsible for selecting the Presidential nominees, and ultimately, the President of the United States are insufficiently well-informed or inadequately serious to make such a decision.

i.e. The USA is screwed.

Some argue for banning certain guns that look like assault rifles, so it must be acceptable to bomb a country that sounds like another country.
When Republicans hear "The United States should bomb..." they tend to say "Yes."

When Democrats hear "The United States should accept refugees from..." they tend to say "Yes."

I think one of the above groups should be ashamed of themselves, but we can differ over which group that is, can't we?

Merry Christmas

I, for one, would like to hear some kind of substantiation from the Forkush. Forkush, you can build straw men like no one else I've ever even heard of!

No question in my mind which party should be ashamed.....the answer is that they BOTH should be ashamed.
Go for Agrabah, but let's secure Narnia first.
Let's bomb the crap out of Agrabah. And then send their refugees to Mexico.
Merry Christmas boys!

No problemo!

Please see DonDiego's initial post to start this thread. If DD's sources are to be believed, many Republicans would like to indiscriminately bomb people, while many Democrats would like to indiscriminately help refugees.

I believe it, don't you?
Nice to see I can be away from this forum for a while and very little changes

Couldn't help but notice that this is very similar to a poll done regarding healthcare and the fact that many more Republicans polled were in favor of the Affordable Care Act than they were in favor of Obamacare, and obviously that's just one example; it's really just how you ask the question and who you like way too often.
