Dude...70% of Republicans did not support the bombing of Agrabah in the poll. Twist the facts much?...
That's you're big point? - that 30% of Republicans is not substantial. Would you prefer "a lot of Republicans?" "Millions?"

Arguing over vocabulary when you can't make a cogent argument. How typical.

Well perhaps if you had continued to read a couple of more sentences you'd see the real point was that this 30% was likely not motivated by "hatred, bigotry, selfishness, and above all, cowardice" as your obvious political hack job suggests. Why wouldn't you assume they are just motivated by the same things that motivate our President and Commander In Chief to actually bomb the Middle East...Daily....for years?

But in political hack Forkush style he's content to ignore the real argument and claim Republicans are 'Substantially' motivated by hatred....because that's his agenda. By his logic, Democrats are also 'Substantially' motivated by hatred and bigotry and selfishness and cowardice since 19% (millions) of them also want to bomb Agrabah. Total bullshit and easily exposed....but very Typical!

forkushV,
You're very concerned about Agrabah. Do you have relatives there?

So what can the interested reader, if any, draw from these polls?

43% of Republicans polled took a position on bombing/not bombing a fictitious country.
55% of Democrats polled took a position on bombing/not bombing a fictitious country.
71% of Democrats took a position on accepting/not accepting refugees from a fictitious country.
88% of Young Democrats took a position on accepting/not accepting refugees from a fictitious country.

Conclusion:

The people responsible for selecting the Presidential nominees, and ultimately, the President of the United States are insufficiently well-informed or inadequately serious to make such a decision.

i.e. The USA is screwed.
Holy Moly ! Poor old DonDiego was unaware of all the detailed information about the political views of the survey's participants that could be inferred from the poll.

As quoted above, all DonDiego could divine was that folks were taking positions on a non-existent issue, . . . and that the more "Democrat" one was and the "younger Democrat" one was, the more likely one was to know the correct policy towards the fictitious country.

DonDiego is saddened that voters can form opinions on such fictitious matters, . . . and are confident enough to express those opinions to the pollster.
He supposes such voters may well be influenced by fictitious arguments in "real" elections as well, . . . likely not to the benefit of the Country.

  • The President chooses to bomb parts of actual countries based on military intelligence and political considerations, while...
  • A substantial number of Republicans want to bomb a fictional country based on...nothing!

alanleroy, we all know that "both sides do it" is your favoritists line ever, but sometimes it just comes out silly. Maybe you should have stuck with your vocablulary argument.

  • Chicago Totals for 2015
    Homicides: 498
    total shot: 2974

    Chicago beating last year totals
    Homicides: 460
    Total shot: 2619

Maybe some of the money used on those smart bombs should be filtered down to our major cities to help the cops out.

get shoes on the ground to protect our own lives.

  • Fixed for the hypocrite. Hey It Rhymes! Or maybe just a bigoted soothsayer since he claims to know the evil motivation of millions of Republicans based largely on....nothing!....oh and conveniently ignores the evil motivation of his Democratic comrades.

You can't make this shit up. But he'll keep trying. Keep trying to slime millions of our fellow geographically challenged citizens with words like "hatred, bigotry, selfishness, and cowardice"....because it suits his political agenda....not because it's the Truth.

Oh we have cowardly selfish etc. Democrats - just because Lieberman retired doesn't mean all of his followers all disappeared.

But according to the poll you and DonDiego cite, the bomb-Aladdin selfish cowards are 58% more likely to be Republicans than Democrats. And the selfish cowards are 315% more likely to be Trump supporters than Hillary supporters.

With a margin of error of +/-4.3%.

Yet still a 'substantial' number of Democrats, no?

Hatred? Bigotry? Selfish? Cowards? This survey suggests no such thing. You have no way to know the motivations of millions of your fellow countrymen. As I already pointed out, their motivation is just as likely the same as President Obama...to support defeating terrorism in the Middle East...but they never asked what motivates them, did they? You attributed this to them based on nothing but your own personal prejudice....and it's perfectly obvious as you never even admitted the millions of Democrats who wanted to bomb the poor Agrabahians until now. You're a political bigot. You use the same kind of logic Boilerman uses when he attacks millions of black people as criminals....only he never even makes up lies about their motivation.....so you're in good company. You must be so proud.

So first you claimed that 30% of Republicans wasn't "substantial." You bailed on that one in a hurry, didn't you?

Then you claimed that both sides are the same. A difference of 315% between supporters of the leading GOP and Dem candidates kind of knocked that out of the park, didn't it?

alanleroy, is this your final shapeshift on this issue? Deflating your arguments is fun and effortless, but enough is enough.

You knocked nothing out of the park....19% of Democrats and 30% of Republicans. An 11% difference in total respondents. Chickenfeed. and...I claimed that Both Sides are 'Substantial'...millions...using your own logic....and there are about 20,000,000 more democrats than republicans, so the actual number of mad bombers is pretty close to even.

But that's not the issue is it? The issue is your blatant desire to smear Republicans with words like motivated by 'Hatred, Bigotry, Cowardice, and Selfishness' based on what exactly? Only your personal bias since their motivation was never part of this survey. This was mentioned in my first post and every subsequent post...but you keep conveniently forgetting to address that. Maybe that's because I hit that out of the park...yeah. That's it.

So please show some statistical analysis...that proves what motivated these Republicans and Democrats to want to bomb Agrabah. Was there some follow-up that asked WHY they wanted to bomb the fictitious town we aren't aware of? Don't you think that might be important to know before you start calling millions of Republicans and Democrats Cowardly Selfish Hateful Bigots? How did you divine their motivation? Oh...that's right...you made that shit up to smear your political opposition. Sun Rises. Forkush makes shit up to smear Republicans. Typical.
