booking.com

anyone have used booking.com to book a room for vegas? have any problems with it? i found a good rate for our trip in june and am looking for past experience with it. thanks!
I posted this question on another site (vegas message board). There were a few people responded who have used booking.com and have had no problem, esp in vegas. The only thing they note is that you are only charged for the room so when you get there you will have to pay for the taxes and whatever fees the hotel has.

I checked kayak and also noted that this site has some of the best rates around. I googled for problems and found a slew of problems in europe, lost reservations, incorrect reservations, etc. but didn't see many problem posts about US bookings.

thanks for the info. you are right about the rates. i am getting a tower at the el cortez on the weekend for $30 a night!! i hope i do not run into any problems.
I am currently working on LVA's Hotel and show promo code booking sytem. We are looking to get feedback on what users want to see when booking a trip to vegas. Currently we are running promo codes for all the major hotels that offer them to affiliates.

I checked out booking.com and found it very difficult to navigate through and select dates. Where did you end up booking your trip through? Was the only reason you booked with them because of the rates? We currently are sending the user back to the hotels page with a promotion code to book with. It seems this is safer and any issues can be resolved directly with the hotel and not a third party. Which do you prefer?

Please check out the LVA hotel and show deals page and let us know what you think. https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/deals/

We are in the process of revising the entire system and are going to release the new version within the next 2 weeks. This system will allow you to use a promo code or search for default rates within a time period selected.

Feedback is greatly appreciated! Hope you enjoy your trio to Vegas!

I found booking.com through kayak. and I know their dates are backwards, day first and month second. I had no problem with that, but I was confused about the price at first. Thought it was the price per day, but asked them and that when it says rate for the 3 days, that was the total price for the whole stay. their site seemed AOK to me. can I answer any more questions for you?
Thanks for your help!

For me, when I book through a site or direct, the only "important" thing is that my price is "all inclusive".

If taxes, fees, etc are not included in the rate per night, I want to see them clearly explained or listed. No surprises, terms, or conditions that were not clearly and completely divulged at the time of booking in regular size print.

What may seem like a great price, when those "fees" are added moves that "deal" from good to yech!

What we're doing with the codes and direct booking is very strong. Hence, we're always interested in why someone, especially on our own site, would go elsewhere. I'm not saying that angers us, but we would like to know why so we can improve our own efforts.
I've encountered a couple of problems when booking a hotel room through a 3rd party. If I needed to cancel a reservation, there was a fee involved. Also, the hotel never gave me a coupon book when I checked in because I went through a 3rd party. Since then, I've always booked direct with the hotel.

for me, i have the board bookmarked and dont go in from the main page so i didnt even know you had this feature.
If you book directly through the hotel, you can cancel up to 3 days before arrival and get a full refund. In addition, most hotels will match a lower price on the internet if you book direct with them.
