A.C. many of us would love to use your site to book hotels if possible. As others have said, the primary problem is the hotel rates. We can't seem to get the same low rates that we find on booking.com and hotels.com (and others) using the Kayak search engine. In addition, sites like hotels.com gives you the total price, including all taxes and fees so when you book and pay you don't have to worry about any extra surprises when you get the bill.
Grisher is incorrect, while there are many hotels that will price match not all of them do and we have to take an extra step to find out which hotels will price match. Easier to just book the room already.
There are many good reasons to book directly with the hotel. One is that we don't have to pay upfront, with hotels.com we have to pay everything upfront. Another is cancelling a reservation. While cancelling isn't very difficult, when we do cancel we have to wait until the charge is backed out. Booking directly with the hotel we don't pay for our stay (the hotel possibly just charges for the first night) until we actually stay there and can cancel without having to worry if our booking got reversed and we got credited for our cancellation.
As someone else said, when booking through the hotel we can also get their coupon booklets. booking through third party sites we may not get the same perks as someone who made their reservation directly through the hotel.
Anyway, if your site could get the same rates as those offerred through sites like booking.com or hotels.com we would rather use your site to book directly with the hotel but until then we will probably use the kayak engines along with looking at your site to see who has the best rates.
hope this helps.

Sure, I can give you an example that I just found now. booking.com has the el cortez vintage rooms for a March 12 - 18 stay (6 nights) at $102 not including 13% tax. With tax the cost came out to $115.26.
Through your site the same vintage rooms for the same dates shows a total cost of $200.71, a whopping $85.45 difference in price. I think the problem is that the I4vegas site may be a little slow in updating their prices compared to some of the other sites.
I had already booked through hotels.com. I called them a few minutes ago and they instantly verified the price match and changed my reservation cost to the $115.26 and gave me a credit since I paid almost $50 more.
I think that many people feel comfortable with kayak since it covers hotels, air and car rentals, we can check them all out in one site without having to navigate between different sites. I think when they get more comfortable with your site they will probably use your site more for bookings.
One thing, I was checking out your hotel search page (I went to hotels and casinos, then deals, then entered dates and nights). Because I check for prices can you add a feature that can sort your starting prices from low to high? That way I can see all the deals starting at the lowest rates and up.
