Booking websites

I was curious which booking websites y'all use for your trips. I use hotels dot com but will book direct if cheaper. For rental cars I stick to Dollar since I have the VIP card and can by pass the line but if I find a cheaper route I would go with another company. For flights it's in this order; 1) Southwest, 2) Spirit, 3) whatever is cheapest factoring baggage fees, change fees, etc.
for vegas hotels, I like vegas.com, if I am not using a comp or other casino offer. vegas.com has always been good to me with various promotions and discounts added in, their 1-800 customer service has been good as well. a while back they were bought or merged with another company, I hope they remain as good as they have been. carrentalsavers.com is a good place to start, if I find a rate that I like I then go and book directly from the respective car rental company.
it also pays to check sams club and Costco for the car rentals.
I've never noticed any significant difference in price between Expedia / Orbitz / Hotels.com / Travelocity / etc. .... I dont use them much for my Vegas trips anymore. I use points to fly on Southwest....and I book rooms through direct offers from the casinos.....and then I book rental car directly through their websites.

Has anybody tried Trivago or Kayak? Those two sites are supposed to monitor all of the booking sites and give you a summary of the prices. I believe that if you are armed with a lower price, a hotel will go ahead and match it, or even better they will discount it below the lower price.
