The Borgata is Suing Phil Ivey

If he can bring his own cards and get paid I want to bring my own slot machine and get paid! Bring your own cards? Really?
IF Ivey is guilty of this, then this is simply another example of the amazing GREED of rich people. Ivey is already worth millions...but the need to have millions more at any cost is completely beyond my understanding.

I honestly hope he's not guilty of any wrong doing as I have always been a big fan of the man; however, if he's guilty..throw the book at him...HARD!
Perhaps it's not about winning more money, but just winning. I know when I'm gambling it's not so much about the money(don't get me wrong, winning money is cool) but about the entertainment and winning. Shoot even when I'm playing monopoly, I'm cutthroat, I wanna WIN!
If Ivey brought his own cards and the dealer put them in the shoe, who ends up being responsible? The dealer or the player.

When I gamble it is not about the money either, but winning however, I would never cheat, if I gamble for money golfing I am more honest than I would be otherwise, otherwise you are stealing, He is greedy period!!!!! Just like all the cheats on Fulltilt, if I was the professer or "Jesus" Ferguson I would give back every penny I earned on the site, some poor SOB that makes $10 an hour lost their money on this cheating site. Steal from the poor and give to the rich!
If you consider the cards as being counterfeit, I presume the player is responsible, I would think it is a felony to knowingly use counterfeit money in a bill feeder of a slot and to use or smuggle in counterfeit chips at a table game.
Not sure I understand. You have to bet before the cards are dealt. Unless he is seeing the top card in the shoe ( the first card for the player ) and betting based on that, which I guess you could get an advantage that way not sure if he could tell just high cards or the exact card value. If they loaded the shuffler without a wash then it is on the casino for letting him do it.

I'd like to make a supposition.

It's not about the win or loose, it's about the challenge and the person's ego.

I worked in sales support for many years and the best salespeople were set, money, spouses, careers. But they just could NOT pass up a challenge. Trying to do what they shouldn't and getting away with it, awesome!

The thrill of the hunt. Many people that are set for life still work 80 hours a week because that is who they are. Ivey is a player. He's going to play.
