Boston Strong

Edited to say;

I was just disappointed that he was not here for this, .... that's all.

No attack on him.

Sorry about that if it sounded that way.

Rick
could of just phoned it in too.

Really? You want to turn this into an attack on President Obama?

A moment of silence in the Oval Office by our President yesterday at the moment of the bombing, releasing a statement, and sending his Vice President to the Boston ceremony is not enough for you?

Here, maybe reading his statement will make you feel better.

A year ago, tragedy struck at the 117th Boston Marathon. Four innocent people were killed that week, and hundreds more were wounded. Today, we remember Krystle Campbell, Lingzi Lu, Martin Richard, and Sean Collier. And we send our thoughts and prayers to those still struggling to recover.

We also know that the most vivid images from that day were not of smoke and chaos, but of compassion, kindness and strength: A man in a cowboy hat helping a wounded stranger out of harm's way; runners embracing loved ones, and each other; an EMT carrying a spectator to safety. Today, we recognize the incredible courage and leadership of so many Bostonians in the wake of unspeakable tragedy. And we offer our deepest gratitude to the courageous firefighters, police officers, medical professionals, runners and spectators who, in an instant, displayed the spirit Boston was built on - perseverance, freedom and love.

One year later, we also stand in awe of the men and women who continue to inspire us - learning to stand, walk, dance and run again. With each new step our country is moved by the resilience of a community and a city. And when the sun rises over Boylston Street next Monday - Patriot's Day - hundreds of thousands will come together to show the world the meaning of Boston Strong as a city chooses to run again."

You won't admit it here, but somehow I suspect that, had he attended, you'd be equally mad at him for somehow "politicizing" the event.
Does it surprise anyone that Obama was angeling for a photo op? It's really quite sick. It kind of reminds me of when Clinton was laughing after a funeral while president...........until he noticed he was being filmed. Within 5 seconds he went from laughing to crying.

The President's moment of silence yesterday was closed to the press. Hardly what someone does when "angeling [sic] for a photo op".

Damned for not being in Boston, damned for "angeling" for a photo op. Classic.
Rock'n Rick: Obama didn't make enough of a show in support for Boston.
Boilerman: Obama made too much of a show in support for Boston.

Both of the above cannot be true.
I hadn't really paused to think of a way to use the Boston Bombing to divide Americans. I thought we pretty much all felt the same way about it.

Bravo, Rock'n Rick.

Well said.

Boilerman's turn to apologize for saying that President Obama was "angeling [sic] for a photo op" by holding a private moment of silence and not letting the press in.

For some reason this reminds me of Bush at ground zero after 9-1-1. I can tell you from first hand knowledge FDNY hated Bush and they still do. Bush was hanging out there trying to show how much he supported the firefighters and they didn't even want him there.

Since I am on a rant as for Giuliani FDNY requested new hand held radios because they knew the ones they had weren't worth a damn. The city of New York was also warned that having the main EMS communication towers on top of the WTC wasn't a real good idea but the powers to be ignored it. When the towers went down the mayday calls never got out.

Yep Bush and Rudy could never miss a photo op. I sure wish everyone could be as forthright as all of the Bush's.
