Boyd Gaming the Bad Guy????

When visiting Vegas in either the Fall/Spring we usually attend LVWranglers game at the Orleans Arena.I see they had to find a new home because Boyd no longer wanted the team at that venue. The team average attendance 4k a game and I would imagine casino traffic and food\bev were a plus. Now they are moving to a tent facility that is being constructed on The Plaza property wich only seats 3500. Even though it was only 2 times a year we went to game we always had a great time and it seemed like it was la perfect fit for Orleans/Wranglers. Im a big fan of Hockey and Downtown and hope for success. Not being a local I have been trying to find out why the split between the team and Boyd occurred? Was the teamed lured away or kicked out because Boyd had better plans for the Arena? Any thoughts or input?
I never saw "why" but I think the move is good for downtown. Kinda funny that Boyd was an original owner of the Plaza, If memory serves correctly.

On a sidebar, I have always liked the location and property footprint of the Plaza. I have always believed that if properly done a very successful resort could be built there that would surpass the Golden Nugget. I believe in this pipe dream so much that a few years ago I looked into what it would take to make it happen.
Despite finding interest from several different sources of investment it would take a couple of million out of my own pocket just to see if it was feasible. Considering my total lack of experience with resort, hotel and casino management I decided it was not a good idea.

Jay Sarno didn't have much experience when he started.

That's it. Egg me on.

Sarno started small and worked his way up and big. I did too but in a different industry.
Besides, I'm starting to get lazy since entering "semi" retirement.
