Brandon Flowers speaks out for Valet Workers

Standard drink recipes call for one ounce. As I said, it sucks they went from being super generous to just generous, but there is also the legal liability to consider. Someone consumes three screwdrivers, they expect three ounces of alcohol, not four and a half. That's the difference between DWI and passing a sobriety test.
Was there really a need to call billryan an "ignorant liberal"? That in itself seems pretty ignorant and off-topic.
Good article.Especially coming from someone so young that actually cares about the average worker.Unfortunately management won't get the message until it hits the bottom line.
Unusual for us, our trip earlier this month, we did not set foot on the strip for any reason. No shows, no gambling, no drinks, nothing. We stopped to see the new Lucky Dragon casino and self parked free......if they charged for parking, we'd have driven right on by.

I feel sorry for the valets.....they deserve better. But I will not add one penny to MGM, CET or the Westgate who want to charge for parking. I am very happy off strip, thank you. If the day comes where I want to go to the strip, I will say hello to Uber or Lyft, who by reports have caused an almost 20% drop in cabbie use! Hooray! Now the next step will be how to wrestle more tax money from the ride sharing folks. Gotta love government involvement. Get it over with, build the monorail around the west side of the strip and out to the airport and be done with it already.

eurotraveler- keep on reading his postings, then tell me what you think of him....
During my 23-day Vegas visit in September and October, I canceled 3 stays at MGM facilities because of the parking fee situation and spent more time at Hard Rock and Stations and other "locals" off-Strip facilities. Those casinos were the lucky ones because my gambling luck was nonexistent. Once my bankroll recovers and I get brave enough to challenge the gambling gods again, the Strip will only see me for the two free nights I have coming ....but I won't gamble a penny there. I play where I stay...unless I know I won't be back. Ever. Or at least as long as this misinformed parking fee policy is still in place. My recent losses of over $5,000 hopefully will not occur each visit (move in with the kids???? I think not) but the corporations that are nickel and diming their patrons won't benefit from my crappy luck going forward.
The valet staff members are the ones I really feel sorry for. These folks have been fabulous in their service over the last 30+years that Vegas has been my 2nd home 4 trips a year. I will miss them. My heart breaks for the awful economic impact this policy has had on them and their families.

Couldn't agree more!!
If you don't tip well and make a return visit to Caesars, Frankie Rizzo will get his revenge. Dirty diapers in glove compartments, deflated tires, you name it. The guy has a mind like a steel trap. He never forgets.

I recommend a tip of $10 to stay on his good side. Minimum $10.
If you read just about any drink recipe book, the standard drink calls for a shot, which is 1.5 fluid ounces. It doesn't surprise me that NY and Vegas are now calling 1 oz of booze standard, but in the balance of the civilized world a standard drink calls for a minimum of 1.5 fluid ounces. In my neck of the woods, however, the standard drink calls for two shots, or 3 ounces of booze.
