this has nothing to do with ellis island or battistas or any specific restaurant or marys hash house or any specific suggestion.

this has everything to do with your "if you dont have standards as high as my own, you are wrong" personality.

that is sooooooo classic ken. you actually tried to insult me using battistas, a place i have never even been inside.

this is what im saying, this is what you do. always. you cut people down for not liking the same crap you like. if someone doesnt like what you like, they are beneath you. if someone likes battistas, god forbid, they are clearly an inferior class to yourself and should climb the class ladder by eating at noras, solely because YOU said so.

Ellis Island does have wallpaper which makes you feel you are in a library...big plus. Ive had their breakfasts numerous times and have yet to be disappointed!!!!

We went to peppermill this morning,my biscuits and gravy were pretty good,nothing to write home about. The portion was huge! If HAGG portions are bigger,geez louis!!,see how anyonne can eat thatmuch. Same was true with wifes waffle topped with fruit and whip cream,damn was so big not sure to she should wear it as a hat or eat it! Mustve been a pound a lb of fruit and about 5 inches of whipped cream on it. The lad:-)y in the booth next to us if she could take a pic of it,pretty funny. I wish i had gone with french toast or country fried steak,but als i cose the wrongthing as usual (i have knack for that). All in a all a good breakfast for about 20 couple bucks.

Ken, could you please tell us how you feel about the places in the Buffet thread. I'm pretty sure Jenaphir needs a recommendation.

Id give M & M Soul Food a big thumbs up also - I just got back from Vegas yesterday. I ate there Friday morning for breakfast, Ham steak eggs n grits it was awesome. It was sooooo good I had to go back Saturday evening for dinner. I like that they serve up your ice tea in a mason jar with two small flapjacks ( very good they are on the sweet side )

I had the baked chicken with gravy it was damn good. Its a fun place, waitress tried to talk me into ordering the chitterlins but I declined as went with a take out order of chicken wings ( damn good ! ) and collard greens and conrnbread stuffing. The cook came out to watch the football game on the tv and I complimented that was the best damn chicken Ive had in a long time.

He said thanks and mentions that they get alot of celebs like the fighters who come in before a big fight as well as sports players also. Then he says with a sly smile " Well we got us a celeb right in here now .......if you turn to your left thats George Wallace behind you. " I slowly spin on my stool and sure enough its George and hes plowing through dinner. I try to snap off a subtle pic on my cell phone but it came out crappy / blurry.

So I will be back there on my next trip. Great food !!
