Breaking news on Jay Cutler

lettuceman- how much money did you have on the game?
Not a fan of Cutler's or the Bears for that matter. I wouldn't doubt for a minute that he lacks the real heart that a champion needs. That being said, it's beyond me how anyone on this board could determine whether or not he was physically able to play or not. Even a qualified orthepedic doc could only give you an impression of his ability to play by watching film. Again, that being said, I think he only had a sprained pussy. He should have had it wrapped, taken a shot and toughed it out!

Good Luck!

Well one thing was revealed. Chicago's third string quarterback should be the second string quarterback, and the second string quarterback should probably be released.
Maurice Jones-Drew railing on Cutler is rich. This from a guy who SAT OUT the last 2 games of the season due to a "hurt knee" when his team was in do or die playoff survival.

And I was in the stands in Indy mid-December when he ran for a paltry 46 yards against my Colts' godawful run defense. Guy performed like the game was bigger than he was prepared for.

The Jags lost all 3 of those games and got booted from playoff contention.

And those other players ripping him? They were tweeting because their sorry-asses were sitting at home because they weren't good enough to get that far...

I'm no Cutler fan. I don't like what happened in Denver, but when you see just how big of an a**hole Josh McDaniels is, it redeems Cutler a bit.

And I've read in many columns from people who know the guy that say is he a very introverted and shy person. Unfortunately, introverts in our society are labeled "snob" or "d*ckhead."

I think we'll find out just how much character he has when he comes back next season (provided there IS a next season)...

I'm not a huge Cutler fan either, but I don't think he deserves this criticism. He has kind of an empty stare. Even if he couldn't come back in the game, he should have been out rooting for his team and working and talking with the back up quarterbacks.

Quick test for Cutler bashers --

1) What quarterback, in your opinion, took a worse beating than Cutler took this year? How about this decade?
2) Which quarterback, taking a worse beating than Cutler, managed to stay "uninjured" throughout the season?
3) Which college quarterback have you seen, in the SEC, who took a worse beating than Cutler took his last year at Vanderbilt? Which college quarterback have you seen, in any conference, who took a worse beating and managed to play every game?

I don't mind people having opinions, but at least let's search your memories to provide some data to back up those opinions.
*Disclaimer - I have not now nor as of this date ever partied with Jay Cutler*

If it was me, they would have to drag me off the field.

The biggest game next to the Superbowl and you can walk off to the sidelines?????

At least with Palmer, they had to carry him off on a stretcher.

I think the Bears just found their next QB. *

* I figure you would not have shared your toughness credentials unless you had all the other abilities of an NFL Quarterback.

Of course if you don't have NFL ability, that just makes you another moron fan running around the field. Then they will drag your ass off for interrupting the game. Either way, your getting dragged, mission accomplished.

I may not be of NFL quality, however I DO know in important games, you leave EVERYTHING on the field of play. To be able to physically walk to the sidelines, shows that there was something in the tank. I know of quite a few coaches who would have been VERY pissed off about his actions. A few come to mind:

Bear Bryant
Woody Hayes
Bob Knight

Hayes, would kicked Cutler's a$$ from one end of the field to the other.
