Breaking: No Hearing For Any Obama SCOTUS Nominee

This course of action will not allow the Republicans to acquire the White House or the Senate! Maybe they should accept Pres. Obamas nominee instead of waiting for what Pres. Hillary Clinton nominates.

Apparently the democrats are not to confident in shrillery winning the presidency.

forky why don't you try posting the real biden quote

"Once the political season is underway and it is, action on a Supreme Court nomination must be put off until after the election campaign is over," Biden said in June 1992 on the Senate floor, according to a C-SPAN recording of his remarks.

Republicans honor the man they say the loved because he followed the Constitution by not following the Constitution.

Key Republican senators on the Judiciary Committee emerged from a closed door meeting in Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's office Tuesday united in their determination not to consider any nominee to replace Antonin Scalia until the next president takes office.

I guess you better include Joe Biden in also.
Please stop being ignorant. Joe Biden in 1992:

"Therefore I stand by my position, Mr. President, if the President consults and cooperates with the Senate or moderates his selections absent consultation, then his nominees may enjoy my support as did Justices Kennedy and Souter."

Silly boy. I wish you had the courage and conviction to give the full story...
Okey-doke, here's a video of the speech. At the 2:42 mark, Biden says he will vote to confirm a reasonable Republican nominee.

But I don't suppose you'll be watching the video, will you?

Yeah. It would be much better for the Republicans strategically to:

1. Narrowly approve Obama's appointee late in the game.
2. Use that loss to inspire great Republican turnout and low Democrat turnout in November.
3. Retain the House and Senate with filibuster proof margins. based on #2
4. Win the presidency.
5. Pass a law to increase the number of Supremes to 13.

As usual the Forkie smoke and mirror diversion act. Did Biden say what I printed or not?
Note the key word is reasonable as defined by Biden.
WTH are they thinking? Big mistake..HUUUGE MISTAKE. Couldn't make abigger mistake with such a crucial election coming up. They've already proven they don't get jackshit d one while holding both chambers. SIGHHH... {shaking head}
Ohyea, and as per usual, AlanL pretty spot on with his observations.

Thank FDR for that maneuver. He tried to stack 15 on the court because they kept finding his new deal stuff unconstitutional. He just couldn't get the 1937 bill past the Senate Judiciary Committee.

I think it's a mistake. Republicans should hold months of hearings then vote. Maybe they're trying to trick the President into nominating an originalist.

I'm thinking somewhere near 12 months or so......
