I don't care about resort fees. I'm no high roller, but I haven't paid for a room in Vegas since 1999. If, after getting everything else comped, I still had to pay a resort fee... I would STFU and do it. (If the fee is also comped, I would call that a bonus.)
I don't care if someone at some resort somewhere used the $20 trick once and it worked. That information has no practical application and no bearing on how the same scenario would play out for someone else. And anecdotally, it's right up there with, "After an uneventful flight, we landed at McCarran." (I didn't say you shouldn't brag about it. I said I don't care. Full disclosure.)
I don't care if Ben Affleck plays Batman. They still make Batman movies only because Batman movies still turn a tidy profit. Everything else is window dressing and craft services. (We're talking about a Batman movie FFS, not Battleship Potemkin.)
On the other hand, I do care how Fremont is spelled and how Nevada is pronounced. Also, I harshly judge anyone who watches truncated and sanitized movies on network television or basic cable. So, I suppose we all pick our own battles… except for those who allow others to pick battles for them.
