A Brief Summary of the 2016 Election Cycle (POL)

So maybe they should repeal the 22nd Amendment.
Yes, Bill would be a lot better than Hillary.

A third term for Obama?

That forkush guy just cracks me up.

Obama would win in a landslide against trump,Cruz,Hilary or the Bern. Kasich would make it close, but I think O would take him.
Bill would crush Barry like a grape. After all he was the "first" black president.

I would compare the differences between today and January 19, 2009, but that would be ****Blaming Bush!!!!**** and that's not allowed around here. Apparently referencing history is discouraged for some reason.

Well actually, I know the reason
Actually what DonDiego had in mind was someone other than a run-of-the-mill Democrat/Republican/Socialist.

Poor old DonDiego finds pretty much all the major-party candidates objectionable based upon personal honesty/responsibility as well as disagreements with governing principles.

Looking at the Libertarian Party Platform DonDiego finds a lot more to like than not.
For example:

1.0 Personal Liberty
Individuals should be free to make choices for themselves and to accept responsibility for the consequences of the choices they make. Our support of an individual's right to make choices in life does not mean that we necessarily approve or disapprove of those choices. No individual, group, or government may initiate force against any other individual, group, or government.

2.0 Economic Liberty
Libertarians want all members of society to have abundant opportunities to achieve economic success. A free and competitive market allocates resources in the most efficient manner. Each person has the right to offer goods and services to others on the free market. The only proper role of government in the economic realm is to protect property rights, adjudicate disputes, and provide a legal framework in which voluntary trade is protected. All efforts by government to redistribute wealth, or to control or manage trade, are improper in a free society.

3.0 Securing Liberty
The protection of individual rights is the only proper purpose of government. Government is constitutionally limited so as to prevent the infringement of individual rights by the government itself. The principle of non-initiation of force should guide the relationships between governments.

3.7 Self-Determination
Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of individual liberty, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to agree to such new governance as to them shall seem most likely to protect their liberty.

DonDiego sorta likes the idea of minimizing the intrusion of Government into citizens' lives as a general rule.

Interesting, DD. I, too, have been increasingly attracted to the Libertarian point of view.

I was never a Democrat, but I’ve come to realize that I’m no longer much of a Republican. Either they changed or I did – probably a little of both – but I’m having trouble making the connection anymore.

That's pretty much how I feel as well. Over the years I somehow gravitated towards nothing, I didn't even really know what the Libertarian party was until I met a guy in our neighborhood is actively involved in local politics and a self proclaimed Libertarin. I've taken several of those "who are you" politically identifying quizzes and I always come up in the center with a leaning towards Libertarian.
