Brilliant Republican Healthcare Solution: Don’t Take Children With Broken Bones To The ER

No, no one in my family has ever suffered a broken bone and waited to go see the family doctor. In the first place, our family doctor isn't an orthopedist. In the second, why put the person through the agony. It's why Emergency Rooms and Urgent Care facilities exist.
I wouldn't do that to my dog, let alone my kids.

That's the whole point but as usual you are missing it because, wel..just because. I'm certain if the kid were in pain mom would rush him to the hospital, but here I am speculating myself. If the kid were in pain or worse "agony" and they didn't take him, shame on them, that's something crack parents do. SOmehow I doubt they're crackheads.

I still don't see what this has to do with whatever new healthcare law comes out to be, except just some political hack bullshit assumptions going on (my guess).
Agony for a common fracture? I've experienced 2 knee replacements, 4 knee reconstructions, 2 knee microfracture surgeries, and two knee scopes. Toss in a spinal fusion surgery, and more broken bones and cuts requiring stitches than I can count. I've never been in agony, except during and minutes after a serious injury. I've experienced dislocated knees (3 times), dislocated fingers (I can't count em, and they don't hurt that much), dislocated knee cap (3 times and they hurt the most), broken nose (3 times, and they don't hurt that much). My kids have also experienced lots of stuff.

I've never experienced a compound fracture, but only the standard run of the mill fracture. In place fractures apparently only cause "agony" to wimps. I'm guessing that compound fracture hurts pretty good. For your possible run of the mill fracture, double up on the ibuprofen, and visit the family doctor in the morning. More often than not, the family doctor will take and X-Ray, and send you home with instructions to return if problems continue.

Jatki, it only fits his narrative if the kid is in agony. How else could you have an evil, heartless, typical right wing parent? The left is excellent at calling people names, just don't put any labels on them or all hell will break loose.

Go Panthers.!!!!!!!

I did not play organized football. I played basketball, hockey, ran cross country, and boxed for a short while in college. My baseball playing days ended prematurely while at Purdue due to multiple and severe knee injuries. I also ran a couple of marathons and half marathons as a pup. Hockey and boxing were the most fun, although I was best at baseball.

I realize the article contains lots of words, some of the fairly big, but I have to ask if any of you bothered to read the part where he states he waited until morning because it was cheaper?

Broken bones hurt. Golly, what a horrible presumption to make. I am glad I didn't mention an untreated broken bone could lead to permanent nerve damage, loss of the limb or even death via a fat embolism. All of which are reasons you are supposed to seek immediate treatment for a broken bone.
Jesus Christ, man. We visited our family doctor in the morning unless it was.......................................a fucking emergency. Yes, an emergency room is for emergencies. The family doctor is easier, faster, and cheaper.

Is this a NY thing or a Liberal thing causing certain people go to the emergency room for non-emergencies?
