Bring some marshmallows...

Firefirghters show up to house fire....and watch...and thats it.

This town in Tennessee has determined the fire department is not a public service granted to the entire sommunity but rather a premium subscription based service (kinda like HBO) where it is only available to people who pay an extra fee.

But dont worry if you dont pay the fee. The firetrucks will still show up. They'll bring a couple cases of Bud and roast some weenies over your burning picture albums.
I don't see a problem. Lots of people pay the $75 per year for the protection. The firetrucks show up in case the fire might spread to one of their paying customers.
I see no problem, if they would not pay and knew they should then they got what was coming. Cost them mor then $75.00. My Grandfather gave me the the tag he had to buy every year from the FD, he watched a neighbors home burn due to them refusing to pay thinking" they will fight the fire" well they didn't and that was in the late 40's. Let me put it to you this way, after that people bought tags.
Agree, blame the state or whover, not the FD. If they have no money, they can't operate, plain and simple. I don't like it but thats apperantly how it works in that community.

JOHN

It's a strange way of thinking, but lots of people don't get warranties, full vehicle coverage, health ins, renters ins, etc. when the cost is usually pennies compared to the worth of their possession (or life).
I don't think it's very smart.
Our family's business has so much ins. coverage it's crazy. There is nothing that could go wrong on a job that we are not covered.
If that's what your state's policy is and you don't agree with it, get voters to change it, or move, or just pay the $75 you cheap bastard. But don't sit there and do nothing and then piss and moan when you trailer burns down.

Good pics PJ! Something about the mention of Tennessee, trailer park and burning trailer just seems Par for the course. What are the odds it was the neighborhood "crack trailer"?
