Broncos and Elway screw up

Rumor has it that the Broncos are in talks with Tim Tebow for their new starting quarterback. Makes sense. He has the qualifications Elway talked about - he wants to be a Bronco and wants to be in Denver. Plus, he is a proven winner there. Come to think about it , Tebow could have won this year's Super Bowl - he definitely could have played as well or better than Manning did.

Where is that rumor? They can still probably sign AJ McCarron or Colin Kaepernick. Manning would have been 19 million dollars for a deteriorating player.

What about free-agent RGIII ?
Is he finished in the NFL ?

Maybe Elway can sign himself....

I'd be gun shy of RGIII. I thought he handled himself with class when he was benched this last season.

RGIII has the urge to try and get every last yard when he is running it, instead of getting down and taking what he got. I think once that is wired in your brain, you can't change your ways. Russell Wilson of the Seahawks will scramble if he has to, but he knows to slide and hit the deck before someone tries to take him out of the game.

Screwing up would have been giving a J.A.G. like Ossie $72 million dollars. Denver wins on defense. Any J.A.G. will get them into the playoffs and save them millions of dollars.

ossie @ $18m per year is a bad signing. The Broncos were right not to sign him. Fitzpatrick is still out there and probably nowhere near that much

Going rate for free agent starting QBs is close to $20 million. Crazy, but true.

Living in Redskin territory, I had to completely laugh when they sold the farm (3 1st rounders +? I think) for RGIII. Sorry no unknown rookie is worth mortgaging the future for but they did it. He reminded me of Kordell Stewart a little ,then he REALLY reminded me of him, all w/o the slash.

Also, there was always lotsa scuttlebutt that he was somewhat of an asshole, always blaming others, nevr taking the hit for his own actions. But that's all it is ,is scuttlebutt. I think another Wash. guy just came out and said as much the other day.
