Broncos and Elway screw up

Brock Osweiler saw the writing on the wall. The Broncos didn't see him as a full time 1st string quarterback. If he would have accepted their relatively lucrative offer, he would still be 2nd string to whomever they are looking for to replace Manning. I don't think RG3 or Tebow or Kaepernick are at the top of the Bronco's QB wish list. I could see one of them picked up as a 2nd string QB. They'll need both 1st and 2nd string QBs. Salary caps will likely come into play on how their QB situation pans out.

They've already lost Malik Jackson to Jacksonville (I hope he doesn't think they named the city after him), a large dent in their defense, and Miami has an offer on the table for running back CJ Anderson.

I think Elway will make good decisions for the team.
Best I can tell, here are the draft pick swaps which allowed Washington to get RGIII. And lots of Washington fans were fired up, since they never think about next year's draft.

2012: Washington gets the #2 draft pick from St Louis
St Louis gets the #6 draft pick from Washington
St Louis gets the #38 draft pick from Washington

2013: St. Louis gets the #2 draft pick from Washington

2014: St. Louis gets the #5 draft pick from Washington

Where is that rumor? They can still probably sign AJ McCarron or Colin Kaepernick. Manning would have been 19 million dollars for a deteriorating player.

What about free-agent RGIII ?
Is he finished in the NFL ?

I'd be gun shy of RGIII. I thought he handled himself with class when he was benched this last season.

RGIII has the urge to try and get every last yard when he is running it, instead of getting down and taking what he got. I think once that is wired in your brain, you can't change your ways. Russell Wilson of the Seahawks will scramble if he has to, but he knows to slide and hit the deck before someone tries to take him out of the game.

Living in Redskin territory, I had to completely laugh when they sold the farm (3 1st rounders +? I think) for RGIII. Sorry no unknown rookie is worth mortgaging the future for but they did it. He reminded me of Kordell Stewart a little ,then he REALLY reminded me of him, all w/o the slash.

Also, there was always lotsa scuttlebutt that he was somewhat of an asshole, always blaming others, nevr taking the hit for his own actions. But that's all it is ,is scuttlebutt. I think another Wash. guy just came out and said as much the other day.

Although Osweiler was not a true rookie, many rookie quarterbacks come in and show signs of brilliance in their first few games. Defensive coordinators and other defensive coaches study film on them and quickly spot weaknesses. After they have adjusted, many of these guys are never as good as their first few games. Osweiler has incredible potential, but Houston has gambled a lot of their future on him.
Cleveland just released Manziel.....

I don't think anybody is going to pick Manziel up. Why would they? He may have been able to repair his reputation for drinking by going to rehab and acting serious, but slapping his girl friend will no longer be tolerated.
Elway did the right thing. There has not been a QB from Arizona State that did any good in the NFL since Danny White. Brock certainly not worth 14 million or more per year.
It was just announced that Mark Sanchez was traded from Philadelphia to Denver. He just needs to keep the turnovers down and let the Denver defense do the dirty work. I think it is a good trade. They traded him for a conditional 2017 pick.
I'm still laughing about the Tebow rumor.
"I'm still laughing about the Tebow rumor." --- Boilerman, Tim is going to say a prayer for you...
They needed a J.A.G. They got a J.A.G.
Think he's their starter or are they still looking?
