Government officials shooting a guy in the back as he is fleeing seems wrong to me even if the guy is an asshat.

Just because a scumbag runs away after shooting at another does not give the scumbag a pass if he turns his back and runs.

From the video, it doesn't look like he got shot while fleeing, at all. It looks like he was going for something and the person who shot him was standing mostly behind, but slightly to the side of him. The guy certainly wasn't running away.
In the video, he narrowly avoids hitting someone while he drives to the snowbank, gets out of the car with his hands raised,but then lowers them, is not following instructions and gets shot after he puts his hands into his coat.

If you watch the video I don't know how you can say that he was complying. He kept putting his hands down and was reaching inside his jacket where he had a gun. How this could be anything but justified is mind-boggling

It was unfortunate law enforcement was forced to shoot and kill him. The video I saw, supports what the police say happened.

After he just missed hitting the FBI agent when he drove his car into the snow, I'm surprised the LEOs on the scene didn't open up on the car itself.
