What is wrong with people nowadays ? ? ?

"Police in Florida busted a game of mahjong in Florida at a condominium clubhouse. The group accused of the crime: four women between the ages of 87 and 95.
Heritage Florida reports that police came to shut down the friendly game played by Lee Delnick, Bernice Diamond, Helen Greenspan and Zelda King.
King says word spread about their weekly gathering and that a “troublemaker” in the community called the police citing a law that prohibits playing the game for money. Police closed the clubhouse.
The women were sent a formal notice from condominium management stating that there would be no more mahjong, bingo, or poker played in the location until further notice. Police reportedly stopped by several times later that week to make sure the games weren’t being played."

Thanks goodness that they finally shut down this gambling operation. I feel safer this morning.

The trouble maker was likely some spritely young 83 year old

This reminds me of a story in my neck of the woods, whereby the police were called to a bowling alley and were told that four elderly ladies were in a gambling ring. They discovered the ladies were gambling on their bowling and issued them a ticket. There was so much publie outrage about the incident, the police asked for the ticket back. They then still insisted that it was illegal for the ladies to be gambling.

I would blame it on the Seminoles, not the raping and crab leg stealing ones, the tribe that the state is trying to take away their Blackjack. I hear they now want in on the Mahjong action.

I feel much safer now too, glad to see our governmental authorities are on top of these things

At least they aren't out shooting black kids.

While I can't agree on such a generalized statement, the shooting of Laquan Macdonald(SP?) was pretty blatant. The cop dropped him while walking down the street, pretty graphic. That cop should have the book thrown at him and put in the same cell as Zelda King or Bernice Diamond!
