Buy in Question

Was thinking the other day does it make a difference if you buy in with cash or chips.
I have been playing baccarat lately and buying in for $500 if I win I keep the $500 chip and cash the extra chips then use the $500 chip to buy in the next time I play. The pit boss always ask how much I buy in for and if it was cash or chips. I am not sure if it makes a difference I just find it easier to carry the one chip then 5 $100 bills. Do they think you are more of a loser if you always buy in with cash and you must be a winner if you buy in with chips? Are they trying to keep track of chips in the tray a cash buy in would be a lot of chips out of the tray and a chip buy in would be the same amount in the tray just different chips. Also how well do you think they track your wins or losses I have been sliding a couple black in my pocket on a dealer change to make my wins look smaller and losses look more. Over the years looking a gambling loss statements from MGM or Harrah's the slots look correct but the table games always seem off sometime high sometime low
I think it's more of a case that they are trying to rate you correctly!
Why would buy in affect your rating? All they care about is the amount of the bet, not if you show up with paper money or a chip.
They track the drop very carefully. IF/when you buy in for cash, their "procedure" is somewhat different, as the note the amount of cash that goes down the chute.

This could affect how you are rates, as the pit boss may not stand around long enough to track your first, especially if busy elsewhere tending to a high roller, etc. Your first wager is usually the baseline for how you are rated, everything after that is "due" to a previous result.

I'm told they try to keep the chip count at table as accurate as possible. That's why they want you to color up when leaving a table. If you carry a lot of chips from table to table it interfers with the chip count. A dealer who I play with a lot told me.

I understand 100% why they don't like it, but they aren't going to mess with a player getting rated, I hope.
I always stuff chips in my pocket when I'm winning, I usually consider those "banked" and save to play another time. If I lose what's left I leave, if I keep winning, keep adding to my pocket.

Pretty funny one time, actually it was one of the first times ever playing BJ in a casino and I was getting pretty wasted, but I kept winning and stuffing chips in my pocket. At one point the dealer stopped the game and asked me "John, either you need to color up some of those reds in your pocket or I have to shut down and get a new rack". I didn't know wth color up even meant, had never heard it before. So of course, I colored up and got 4or 5 blacks and some greenies, I was pretty ecstatic. I knew I had been winning but had no idea it was that much.

You had 4 to 5 hundred in red in your pocket? That is 80 to 100 chips.
Those are some deep pockets.
