Ca. storm/rainfall

I haven't heard too much about the storm that's hitting Ca. except it's a downpour and the threat of mudslides.Since we were out there last month and it was so dry they were giving bottled water to drink at every restaurant we ate at. I was wondering how our California friends here were holding up, 'cause our local news just mentioned that it was a pretty major storm and some gusts hit 100mph.

I know the rain is welcome, just not all at once Hopefully this helps in starting to fill some of the reservoirs out there and helps to ease the drought ya'll have been suffering from. The place we stayed at on Catalina kinda discouraged us from taking showers. Not really but kinda sorta.
It's been raining steady here on the coast since midnight. Nothing more than a normal winter storm, it's just that we haven't had many normal winter storms for the last 3 years.
We are personally responsible for a steep incline at the back of our yard. The Coastal commission made us re-plant for erosion control this summer. I was worried that it was too close to the rainy season for the shrubs to develop a good root system. So far everything looks good.

Catalina got good steady rainfall last storm a little over a week ago. It filled all the buffalo water holes. This storm's rainfall is all bonus. To the chagrin of the naturalist the non-indigenous Buffalo get to stay least another year.
In Tahoe they had 140mph winds creating 6' waves. I'm in SF right now and there's some flooding. North of here it's even worse.

Here's to hoping your backyard holds up CK. I know how dangerous it can be.
