Caesars announces plans to charge for parking

Sorry Bill,I disagree.The oldtimers knew there was money to be made respecting customers, not charging for every little thing.

Enter Southpoint. Who just gave me 2 free rooms for 3 nights during a busy March weekend

Is there bus service to M, Southpoint or Silverton? If there is, that could be an option. Drop your group off on the strip, park back at a free parking lot, hop the bus and meet up with them. I know that's kind of a drastic step, but.....

I would like to know if there is service to those casinos though.

South Point has a variety of shuttles. I believe one goes to the strip casinos. I know one goes to Town Square, and might even be one to the airport. There is a public bus that goes down Las Vegas Blvd but I'm not sure how far south it goes.

Well now the Wynn and Encore have joined. I read one thing that Caesars was doing this to combat people who are parking at CET properties but then walking over to MGM properties. I would imagine that the Venetian and Palazzo are close behind.

We were leaving Harrahs AC on the day after Thanksgiving & there was a long line of cars. When I got to the cashier, I realized
what caused the line. Everyone ahead of me was complaining about what Harrahs was charging to park over the Thanksgiving holiday, $25.
They did offer free parking if you earned 25 tier credits or are diamond.

Cosmopolitan says they are tired of being used for free parking from their competitors.

Two words...over it.

I loved Vegas so much I moved there. Cosmo did this out of necessity. Harrahs/Caesars (I freaking hate when people change their names, more stupidity) had this planned from day one with mgm. I am in the know. It was just waiting to drop the info.

As I have said ad nauseam, my nearly constant visitors and my own "tourist" lifestyle will not and has not patronized these places. My mom will be losing her diamond status as they sold the locals properties she frequented. January will be our last trip there and visitors came to see me and dropped a lot of money. They will frequent their home state properties and just not come since I cannot shuttle them and show them the town. Buh-bye. Thankfully, I have a whole life that doesn't involve gaming because Vegas has lost its appeal to me as a small town, big city. All the amenities, but none of hassle. We didn't pick Chicago, New York, Atlanta or California. Anyone going to the strip is isolated to gaming and their product. No one is parking on the strip and not using a business paying the casino corporate. We pay two, three, four times as much for shows, dinner and shopping. And forget drink prices. Done and done.
